How does your game meet GBJam's theme?
Inspired by the works of H.P. Lovecraft and the question what would happen if the Necronomicon were found in a medieval age by a dangerous religious person. We combined body horror and cosmic horror with cute looking characters with and spooky and nostalgic sountrack.

This is the first game I played someone who became an octopus! A little short, the "to be continued" after the church is a little abrupt but it's okay I understand the time constraint of a jam ^^ great little game, the story and the pixel are good, the dialogues and the music create a good atmosphere! well done !

Great visuals and great story. The Gameboy background on the itch.io page is a nice touch. Short and sweet.

I love the premise and art style, and its always nice to see more variety in the stealth genre!

Very cool and it's nice to see a stealth game!

Crazy impressive design direction and music! Love the direction of the story and the effects you've put into the game!

Thank you so much! Really appreciate your comment :) It was a lot of fun working on this project, so it's awesome to hear that they came together well. Your feedback means a lot!

Neat! Wish there was more gameplay, though!

Yeah, we were planning more but at the end we had to give away some ideas, thanks you for play it!

Really impressive amount of story you managed to integrate into this, and the concept was neat! I liked getting to play as a monster in a stealth game. Just wish it were a bit longer with a few more screens, it seemed like it was going somewhere!

Developer

I hope you were able to go upstairs at the church. Is funny the monster was the first character we create and supposed to be the villain, but the things change quickly in a single day. Thank you very much for the feedback and played it!

Wonderful presentation!

Developer

Thank you for mentioning it, last 24hr of the jam was just for that! :,)

Is this supposed to have sound? Otherwise very cool visuals. I am not a fond of long dialogues and cutscenes, but I get it it definately fits the old game soul.

Developer

Oh!!! Is a shame you couldn’t hear the music, sometimes it requires the window to be manually focused depending on the emulator, could you tell me please where you played it in and maybe I can try to fix the issue. Yeah was challenging to make the game in GB studio but was a nice experience. Thanks for played it!

I played it in Microsoft Edge browser, window was focused as I could play it. I specifically checked if my tab was muted -- it was not, just did not had any sound on it playing at all.

Submitted

Tried it again and now the sound worked. I don't know what went wrong before. I edited my rating.

Developer

Ohhhh!! I wonder what could have happened, it occurred to me as well once but I haven’t figured out how to reproduce it again, maybe is just luck haha, Really thanks for trying it again!

The atmosphere of this game is super on point for this Jam. Just curious is there anything after finding Theodora yet? I couldn't seem to progress from there.

Developer

It’s great you were able to find Theodora! Were you able to go upstairs after that? Maybe a round of playtesting would be ideal to fix that lol. Thanks for played it!

This is an awesome entry! I love the sound and visuals, and the setting is cool too. Overall an impressively authentic feeling Gameboy game, great work on this.

Thank you so much for playing and for your feedback! I'm really glad you enjoyed it! Creating the music was such a fun challenge :)
