Great entry! Phenomenal graphics and sound in an impressively sized map! Ran into some bugs where after death, I re-retrieved the fire gem only for it to give me the electric one ( since my gems were no longer in the pedestal and I didn't think to look at the ui below, I thought I had to find the gems again upon dying) and then when I finally got the electric one for real, placing all gems gave me the big screenshake, but I still couldn't open the citadel. Even with that it was a fun experience that would be great to have on the gameboy!

This was a really beautiful game, masterful pixel art, made me nostalgic for old SNES rpgs. Unfortunately I ran into some bugs that made it unplayable, namely getting stuck out of bounds. As it stands there also doesn't seem to be much to encourage the player to fight any of the enemies either, there's so many of them and they don't seem to drop anything, it's much faster to run around them. Even with the teleporting sword boss, my instinct was to sprint to the statues, so he at least may have benefited from a strict closed off area.
Nonetheless, this is one of the most polished and complete feeling games in the jam and it's quite impressive! Nice work!
Thank you for the feedback! Collisions were a huge headache for us, haha - we have some work to do to figure out why the OOB glitch takes place. And you're right about the enemies - I think if we had more time, we'd have made them do more damage and added health drops and such to prioritize fighting more. But for the jam, we just wanted players to be able to get to the end, haha.
Thanks again for the review!
This is great, the art is amazing and I'm impressed by the variety of objects and enemies you managed to do in 10 days. The gameplay is great too, though some of the controls could be more intuitive. I'm shocked that this game doesn't have more ratings, good job!!
Very nice looking game! I had managed to go out of bounds while exploring, but thankfully I found a strong enemy to kill me
Cool game! I really like the graphics. I am always amazed at how much clarity people are able to put in with such a limited palette. The combat was pretty straight forward. The strafe mechanic works well. Not sure if I hit the glitch, as I collected all 3 orbs before taking them back-- but nothing happened. I'm also not clear on the elements, my attack seemed to be the same regardless of how many times I pressed space. I'll need to give this another go after I get some rest. The overall look and mechanics are great, though!
I love the color and graphics of the game. The enemy design and AI is quite fun to fight against, although I do think it's very easy to get hit by the enemy.
Another thing is that its hard to find which direction to go for the objective, its very easy to get lost on the map(I would suggest like a arrow pointing towards the direction to go, or a minimap, etc). Other then that great game
Absolutely stunning, really loved the graphics and the background music, I think is really easy to get hit by enemies because you kinda have to walk where they are in order to aim at their direction, aside from that, loved the game, great job!
