Challenging, polished game. I included it in my GMTK Game Jam 2019 compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look. :)

Developer

I'm so glad you liked it, thanks for playing! :)

This is a really well designed and polished game. I found it kind of difficult to navigate the levels; I suggest adding a dashed-line grid to know where spaces may be (I actually had to cheat a little, by placing my fingers on certain key spots). The visuals and audio were nice.

thank you, I'm glad you like it, I will be adding an assist mode in the post jam update to reflect the feedback :) and I'll be sure to check your submission out too!

Assist mode sounds great, but in normal mode I would not add a grid. It was a good decision to use sprites without any patterns. With a grid, the game becomes just about counting spaces.

great design and music!

This game is so polished it makes me jealous. You have an incredible amount of content, like you could easily release this as the full game. You even had time to put in achievements! Again all I can say is that I am jealous!

Developer

thank you! I'm really glad you liked it :)

Managing to propose so much content while working all alone... and with quite polished graphics, at that! Damn, I'm jealous! You're too good! XD

The only little thing I could reproch would be the adherence to the theme. We can use the all-seeing eye only once, yes, but its function is not applied once, as the player can in fact see the labyrinth multiple times. But that's quibbling, really.

Developer

thank you for your feedback, I'm glad you liked it. My adherence to the theme was mostly by making the game entirely 1bit and with 1 screen per level but I see what you mean with the all seeing eye, I did think about letting the player only use it once but that would make the game far more difficult and it's already pretty tough 😂

Submitted(+1)

Polished until you can see your reflection in it! And a very clever idea! Only feedback would be maybe add a grid for easy space counting and allow players to skip the blinking "Wait" parts if they want. Also, amazing job creating sooo much content in so little time. Mad respect :D

Developer(+1)

thanks, really glad you liked it! And both of those suggestions are coming in the post jam update :)

Fantastic job! The main mechanic is pretty neat although I wish the tiles would disappear faster and maybe the game could wait until you press a button until it does so. It's super polished and I certainly didn't expect this many levels in a gamejam game,  especially ones with collectible bonuses. The puzzles are pretty varied and well put together too.

I had a LOT of fun with this! Clean and clear graphics, fun puzzles and a cool theme overall! Fun game!!!

Great execution. Looks very polished allready.

Great game! Love the visuals and the design is awesome! Love it!

This is an extremely well designed and thought out game. The controls feel responsive and juicy, and the level disappearing mechanic was very interesting. It would be good to skip the level disappearing animations and get straight into the gameplay though, but other than that - great job!

Developer

thank you, I'm glad you like it and thanks for the feedback! I'll be putting a skip in the post jam update as well as an assist option so look out for that :)

Submitted(+1)

Definitely an interesting take on the theme and original! I definitely would be interested to see this being developed further!

Submitted(+1)

Well, I was much better at it this morning than I was last night! I guess not being tired helps ha.

I really like it - the only real niggle I have is the waiting time. When you make an accidental mistake or something (like clicking a direction at the end of a boost pad so you go into a wall and you know what your mistake was and you're kicking yourself :P), you just want to get back into it straight away - but you can't, you have to wait! So a skip option would be nice.

Apart from that - loved it. Very nice little game. Carry on with it after the jam!

Developer

thanks, I'm glad you like it, I'll put a skip option in to the post jam update for sure :)

Submitted(+1)

Excellent work! I could see this being a full game. Being able to skip the wait phase before the tiles disappear would be great, although the time penalty does serve its own purpose.

Developer

thanks, I'm glad you like it! Well since it seems to be something people want as an option, I'll put it in a post jam update :)

Interesting concept and well implemented!

I would recommend that you include a visible grid when the level is shown to allow players to count their steps more easily.

Developer

Thanks! :) I did contemplate a grid but a solid white grid would've broken the theme with only one colour, maybe something to line up for a future update though :)

Maybe just a few black pixels along the middle of the edges of the cells?

Don't ever let it be said I don't deliver! :D

Have to wait until voting is over to upload though but stay tuned! :)

Oh interesting. I was thinking more along these lines.

Developer(+1)

Aah, I see what you're getting at - I think they both more or less achieve the same thing but yeah, I get what you mean :)

Was this a solo entry? I always love a good puzzle game. I only made it to level 12, but regardless really impressed with how many levels you were able to include, and the ability to make a game like this within the time.

Developer(+1)

Thanks! And yeah, apart from the music which I was allowed to use but didn't make, the rest was solo! I'm glad you like it! :)

Submitted(+1)

There is something about this game that I can't properly name, it is very hard and punishing, but it is really addictive! I reached level 14 and stopped for the fear of getting a heart attach lol
Very good work here! well done :)

Best game I've played this jam. Hands down.

Submitted(+1)

Phenomenal Game - great music, idea, and design. Good job!

I wouldn't like to post comments until the end of the jam to not influence people. However this game was dope. At first it was hard, as any game but once you play it a few more times it gets easier. Overall nice concept and like the minimalistic style of it. Usually you don't see many games like this one around so nice idea, finally something unique :D

Thanks! Really glad you liked it :)
