I like that the control mappings are consistent with the light colors. That was a good touch. I wish there were more levels though.
it wos litel wird to anderstend but it wos fun
Fun game. But super annoying to switch my brain when the controls change. Oh well that the point of the jam! :)
Cute idea! But it would be nice if the switched controls were specified (ie. when the lights turn blue, it shows what each of the arrow keys does). There are some collision issues but I really like the art style and the game as a whole experience. :)
Switching controls was quite hard ! Your character is really nice, why the thumbnail though? ^^
Thanks! The thumbnail was an quick sketch that Moonshel did to explain the light idea, and I thought it was cute.
But I'm gonna change it to something more representative. Thanks for playing!
Loved the art! I just wished the hitbox of the platforms wouldn't get me stuck whenever I fell all the way down.
Nice core concept, and your sprite work looked good! I think I was just rather bad at the game, but I kept getting stuck on the boxes xD
Thanks!!
I liked the music, it really fits your theme well, frantically escaping an enraged gorilla.
It was sometimes hard to figure out the new controls, when the lights changed and the gorilla was right behind me. It would be nice to give a hint to the player what the control scheme might look like. For example whenever the lights change, the control scheme is rotated clockwise (or counter-clockwise) by 90 degrees.
Love the art and music! The controls mostly worked well, but I found that sometimes when the light changed when I was next to a wall it was very difficult to figure out what to do.
Thanks, glad you liked it!
There's a bug related to the walls, but I couldn't figure it out yet :/
The colored lights give the player just enough information to actually learn to respond rather than just fumbling. Also, thematically, having the player character in a panic situation really helps justify the controls. I did run into the collision issue when jumping up ledges, but backing up a bit (which requires finding the 'left' key) solved that. Good work!
Thank you very much, wish I had more time to find that little bug, but I'm really proud of our work!
A fun little concept
Nice fun little game! There were a couple parts where I tried to jump but wasn't able to get up unto the ledge, so I had to wait for the gorilla to come kill me. But other than that it was fun, and a unique concept!
Thanks for playing!
