A really fun little idea, that got a lot harder than I expected when the green sphere gets introduced. Definitely a solid concept that could be expanded on further :)

Feedback (if you want to keep working on it, or maybe just things to consider for the next jam):

  • The music track got real annoying real fast. This can be avoided by having a longer looping audio track, and make it persist through levels/restarts. Especially in a game like this where you are restarting so often, hearing the first 4 seconds of the track takes it's toll real fast.
  • Add a little bit of juiciness to the deaths, an explosion or some little visual tell, that you died.
  • I know you were embracing the "Unity Default Project" look for this (no offense I hope haha), I've discovered a great trick to avoid that is to see the Clear Flags of your Main Camera to Solid Color, and choose a color. That blue/grey horizon is ingrained in most game jam players heads at this point I think haha.

Great work, you made a genuinely interesting game design in 48 hours, that's definitely worth exploring more, keep up the good work. :D

I didn't really know what was going on but moving the level instead of the player is a really interesting concept. Nice game for a first jam, keep at it!

Those green sphere levels are really tough, I liked the challenge, nice work.

Nice to see someone tackle their first jam. You have lots of potential, keep doing this and you'll get far!

Cool concept! I think you should have introduced the green orb sooner, it was definitely a moment where I got to be like 'oh cool, I see what works about this design' when I realised there'd be multiple things in the level to avoid with the red cubes. I wish the instructions had been a liiiiiitlle clearer, it made it pretty hard to work out what I was doing on the first level.

Also I wish the music didn't restart its loop each time I died!

There's something almost meme like in this game, I like the idea and concept though, good one!

i like the concept! especially when the sphere it introduced, it added a whole new layer of complexity

Despite it looking really ugly (no offence, programmer art is still art :D), I could not stop playing it just so I could beat the levels :'D

The game design idea is really neat - kind of an inverse jump'n' run! Nice work!

I don't know if it's the joke of the game or what but I move the red cube's not the player XD

Haha the art on the cube is very silly. The game is simple and straight to the point. Overall, great work for your first ever game jam!

Very fun, love the low poly graphics, pretty well done!

I saw no way of doing anything in this game, sorry

Cool concept, but I couldn't pass the first level. The presentation was a bit poor, but overall, knowing it's your first game jam, you did a great job! Congratulations!

I like the concept of the game, move the world around the player who stand still !? Nice job for your first game jam. The :( block guy was cool.

nice job!

Decent first game! Found a bug - you can still move and occationally win the level after dying.

The idea is decent, but everything just stopped happening after the first three cubes. There was no blue stick like the "How To Play" screen said there would be, and I couldn't figure out how to complete it any other way. Presentation itself could definitely do with some work. I know this is your first project, so I can't be too hard on you, but there is definitely some work to be done.

Solid submission!
