Interesting idea. Don't think I'm smart enough to figure out the AI part though :( And the screen shake felt a bit too strong for me

The programming part seems interesting. But as others mentioned, it is not clear how to use it.

I believe that affects when the Key Change. Is this how it works?

As I did not add nothing to the first screen, when the Key Change to me,  I pressed all keys and could not find it how to continue moving. Not sure it is related to the first screen.

Interesting concept!

Yes that is the case, when the control switches the AI you wrote takes over, so if you didnt program anything, the AI does nothing. I really should have included a tutorial or something.

I love games where programming is involved, however I only noticed it was a thing way after I finished playing it like a regular shooter. It sounds like a cool concept but I'm not sure it fits well with an action packed genre like this. Good job anyway!

Love the concept, programming is very fiddly and could do with a test mode to check your code and maybe a mini window to show which block is being processed. Love the gameboy aesthetics too.

The interesting/unique aspect of the game, is unfortunately not communicated well to the player. At first I thought that the visible variables on the title screen were there by error. Then I thought the required strategy for when losing control was to find a well protected, quiet corner while you can't move. When I read the description to see if that was correct, I realised I was supposed to program my own AI. A couple of problems there: I'm not a programmer and also the interface was not all visible.

Working out how to get this to work seemed like less fun that playing and rating the next jam game. Sorry!

The part of the game where I have control was a lot of fun, and seemed well polished. The variety of enemies was good, and their behaviour was varied between types, but predictable for each type. In my view, your innovation gets in the way of my ability to enjoy your game, rather than enhancing the experience. Hopefully someone with better understanding of AI programming would think differently.

Good effort, thanks for making the game!

I didn't understand the fist screen
You can change the ship behavior ?

Developer

Yes, I didn't have time to include a tutorial, so the only instructions are on the itch.io page. It's a visual programming language, there is an example for an AI in one of the screenshots which should explain some of the basics.

Promising game :)

Consider adding trail in the player movement. Because it's hard to track where we are going when there are no obstacles and the control is in AI mode

Cool idea! Had trouble understanding at first. The coding part can be a little fussy, but honestly if y'all polished this it'd be really fun.
