That's such a clever idea! I love how you expand on it (throwing own jammers, for example), too. The art style is great, but if you decide to finish the game, I'd recommend collaborating with a musician. :)

I really love your game, its super fun and creative I had alot of fun :P it's one of those types of games where you play it and your instantly like, I love this. The only thing is maybe put a jammer at the beginning of the game so the player knows what hes getting into.

Very good idea and take on the theme! I really like how the jammers are double edged swords that can affect your obstacles and you yourself. I think the levels in the game are fine as is but there is definitely a lot of potential to go even crazier with them and make some really intense puzzles or platforming bits!

Movement felt really good! Being able to change camera view was something I haven't seen before in a game like this, a great feature. A really smart game. I will be playing this again.

I adore that you can see the robots current 'command' in the corner, it's a really cute piece of presentation. Your main mechanic is also really cool and when I got to being able to throw my own jammer I got really excited.
The actual feel of the platforming could be a little better? It's far from terrible but it's probably the weakest part of the game.
Overall very nice work!

The mechanic of this game isn't anything new for this jam, but the way it's implemented and the level design make it completely stand out. The mechanic is really used to its fullest potential with puzzles and obstacles that are completely understandable to the player. I love how you don't just immediately get the throwable jammer. It sorta reminds me of Portal, where you don't have control over the gun until you fully understand the way it works, which makes for a great introduction to a somewhat abstract concept. I love how there's both a good and bad to placing the jammer, where you might've stopped an obstacle, but you need to make sure you can also get through it without getting stuck. Really great execution and clever ideas here!

Nice game! The core idea is surprisingly close to ours. I love how the games are still compleatly different.

Nice concept! It is a really fun game but gets a little frustating at some points..

I think you can improve the zoom out function.. when camera is zoomed out, the outlines of the sprites get messed up (Maybe use a pixel perfect camera?).. Other than that, the game is really nice!

Great Job!

Really good puzzle game. I had a lot of fun playing it!

My only issue is that I was inside the jammer area before the art touch the circle. And I would prefer to take the jammer back even if I without control. Be stuck was more frustrating than fun.

Good job!

I really enjoyed the handdrawn art style and how it helped make all the puzzle hazards more readable. There's a lot of clever design in the level layout. Great work!

Very fun and unique game, a great mix between a platformer and puzzler. Deploying the jammer allowed for really interesting situations and satisfying puzzles. I  liked the art style but I think it would be better if the lines were a bit thicker and more defined. My only other issue is the fact that x is the jump button. This was incredibly annoying and frustrating but a really easy fix for you lol. Overall I really enjoyed the game and I hope you keep working on it, great job!

Developer

for my future reference, which button would you prefer to be the jump button ?

Space  would be fine, you could then  also change the jammer button to Q or shift so it is easier to press with the space bar. Another option is to have "z" as jump and "x" as jammer with the arrow keys instead of wasd. Hope this helps  :)

Developer

Actually the control you mention is all there in the game.... (except shift)
you can use both x and space to jump.
you can use both Q and Z to use jammer.
you can use both arrow and WASD to move.

Played till the end. The concept is great! Things got more interesting when I had control of the jammer. Cleary a Game Jam game! pun intended!

I suggest to make the controls a little less slidy next time. It wasn't game breaking but Mark Brown isn't much a fan of slidy controls XD

Anyways, I'm glad I found this entry!definitely worth my time!

Loved the robot's expressions! It was nice that it showed you what command was coming up next when you were in the jammers!
