i hate this game.
make more levels
5/5
This game perfectly demonstrates how patient, fast, fluent and fun a game can be. Best game so far!
This game had me tricked, I thought it was going to be Flappy Bird. In all seriousness I thought this was a pretty neat puzzle game, loved that one momentum based puzzle.
Speaking of momentum, I felt that the character slowed down at odd times, which felt unsatisfying to say the least.
Nice game either way.
I think this is incredible, couldn't get past the level after the flappy bird level, was probably timing thins wrong but thats a fault on my part. I think the concept fits the jam perfectly and honestly could see myself sinking my teeth into a longer bigger better version. Potential ideas for your consideration if you do want to exapand, maybe some moving elements to the levels or maybe a button which can just kill your momentum completly allowing you to precisely stop and change direction could make for some interesting levels
The game-feel here is really, really impressive! A nice crunch to everything you do. Although, I did have to mute the audio because it got a little grating.
I love how well you used the games simple rules to create some really cool levels early on. However I found that the later levels were a little too reliant on how kind the physics were feeling and less about figuring anything out. That's common with jam games though.
Really, really nice work, again can't overstate how *good* this game feels.
It's very polished in terms of production and presentation. I would have given the presentation 5 stars had the audio not been pre-existing assets. The little bit of homage to Flappy Bird was nice, by the way.
The core idea and mechanics work very well, but the hero of the show is the level design ideas and layout, which do an excellent job of showcasing both the consequences and the possibilities of the core mechanic. That being said, the placement and spacing in many levels are very rigid, especially since aiming is a bit tough to gauge (and collision is not that forgiving either).
I would have given the fun factor 4 stars if not for the inability to understand how the ball's momentum works, in the face of the tight-rope precision the game demands. While I can somewhat get over the trajectory being a bit tough to gauge sometimes, the momentum and acceleration feel a bit erratic at its limits. When a level's solution/nugget requires precise execution, this feels rather unfair or at least poorly conveyed. When the level's spacing and placements are not so strict, however, this is a mild matter and is barely noticeable.
Since the level designs are inspired and have a puzzle-y nature to them, the strict execution fights against it. When the player reaches the correct solution in their mind but has to retry >50 times due to stringent execution precision, those next 50+ attempts simply become undue punishment. Fix this, and the game experience overall could probably have a proper price tag on a storefront, given enough content and if the level design remains just as inspired throughout.
Gripes and compliments aside, it's also worth noting that the core idea itself can probably be explored further. For instance, there could be other game objects in the level aside from walls and button-recharges. Look no further than Pinball and The Incredible Machine games for inspiration on this. Then again, perhaps I simply did not get far enough to encounter them (stopped at level 8 due to the momentum factor).
In all a great entry, and I certainly hope it gets taken further. The potential is certainly there. Great work!
That's very well done and polished, but could be more forgivable with physics. I got stucked on the third level I guess. Couldn't make the jump after MANY tries. Good job!
Thanks :)
The third level has a trick, and you have to think about it a bit, I dont wanna spoil the whole thing, but, after you make the first jump, you still have two keys left, right?
Think about how you can use both, to gain more speed towards the right ;)
nice game some level are more challenging and just take a longer time to figure out, but it looks and works greaat, good job!
Really polished and well-balanced, challenging levels!
Cool puzzle game, and nice graphics. Well done man (even if I am not very good at it) :]
Really nice game, looks good and a very fun concept. It's a little difficult, but I like it.
This is definitely one of my fav games so far. Very well done!
Cool visuals, cool idea, but kinda trips up on the fact you often need to be so precise with your timings that players might think the correct approach timed wrong is just the incorrect approach.
I really liked this, solid mechanic. I think the level design could be a bit easier by making gaps a bit wider, I struggled with flappy birds and got salty quick.
Was an awesome challenge. Felt good when I figured out the correct path for one of the harder courses.
