Simple, but quite peculiar idea. Gameplay is easy to learn, but hard to master. The biggest problem I faced was how to get back the land, as it's not obvious at the beginning and it's hard to see that circle on the ground. Simple, but quite peculiar idea. Some cool ideas there and I definitely had fun, but in my opinion, the gameplay could be faster. Claiming territory (especially after everyone is dead already) could be much quicker. It's nice that you made your own music, but the loop is slightly off, you can definitely notice when it ends and starts again.

Good job, nevertheless!

Interesting concept, I like the visual effect 😄

Nice game and art style, but the fish eye effects gives me a little dizzy. But still love the look of the game and the swing of mouse to attck!

Developer

Thanks for playing, and sorry about the dizziness

Fun game! I like the territory control element. It adds a layer of depth beyond just "swing your sword around." Good job!

Great job here. I like the aesthetic with the art and the filter over everything. It looks cool and sells this puppet/chess-piece style of the game that I really liked. I love that there were boss fights too. It was fun to swing around the sword, although most of the time it was just wiggling it in front for max effectiveness, maybe it would do more damage the more distance it travelled before a swing, that could be interesting. And when you claim tiles, it is quite slow. Since you already need to have your sword away and standing still I think you could have it capture all tiles in a radius around you (in fact the circle you added made me think that was the case) I still had a really fun time with this though, nice job!

Developer

Wow, thanks for this in-depth feedback, it means a lot! I will take all this to heart and if I revisit the game I will change these things. Thank you so much for playing :]

Fun little game and it looks really good! Only problem I have with is that capturing land system, it just takes a little bit too long to capture and it isn't really fun just to stand there (but that can be just me, I prefer faster paced games). But in general, it is a good idea and a good game!

Thanks for playing, and thanks for the feedback, I will be sure to think about that if I revisit this game :]

The mechanics and gameplay are great! Would love to see this further built on. Nice work!

Neat game, I really like how the sword controls, its very satisfying to shake your mouse around to beat foes. I do think the players base movement speed should be a little faster as even when sprinting they're pretty slow. It may also be nice to be able to capture points faster or multiple at the same time as it can sometimes feel like you're just waiting to finish a level based on that. Even with those small things though I enjoyed the game, good job!

Thanks for playing, and thanks for the in-depth feedback! I think all the points you made make sense, and if I carry on with this project after the jam, i will be sure to change them :]

I liked the mechanic if the game, and the use of the theme. I just think that if the player could move faster it could be better. Nice art style too!

Thanks for playing, and the constructive criticism :]

Thanks :]

I really liked the sword play! With the effects of the screen, it was kind of hard to see at times, even if I was swinging it. I also wish it was a little bit faster, but I can appreciate the atmosphere of having a slower game like this, too. Good work!

Developer

Thank you, im glad you liked it :]

I like the idea, but I'm not good with the sword, which made me really lose the control early in the game

Developer (1 edit)

Yea, the sword worked better on paper. If i revisit this game i would probably change it. Thanks for playing though :]
