Oh this is a neat concept. I like your take on the theme!

What blew me away in particular was your scrolling starry background and the music was great too! Fantastic job getting this looking so polished in the limited time!! :D

Looks great, sounds great, and a real neat idea! Might be neat to also have powerups for the character like you'd see in a normal scroll shooter. If you control the powerups, you then have to manage trying to hit the player with the powerup but still avoid the player with your ships! Great idea. Please check out my game too if you have the time!

When I was thinking about powerups I want to make them automatically direct to the "player's" ship, 'cause instead they could go past the ship and it will be too uncontrolled. I'll try to add them after the jam ends, so thank you for your feedback!

The game was alot of fun but at first I was a little confused about if I should be killing the player or helping the player survive. Anyways great job!

Developer

I should have add a little more information about keeping "player's" ship alive, yeah, but anyway thank you for your feedback!

Great twist on swapping the control to the enemies. You probably did not have enough time for something extra like somehow levelling up your kamakaze but that would definitely make the game more fun :)

Good job otherwise!

Developer

Thanks! I planned to add some power-ups, but finding myself at finishing of making a boss sprite 1.5 hour before the submission ends, so yeah, maybe I add them later. Hope you really enjoyed playing it!

nice game a very good spin on a classic game

Developer

Thank you! I thought that trying to win by controlling the enemies instead of the player is interesting idea and hope you enjoyed it!

Very nice game! I love the game concept! One small critique is it's very difficult to get any kills, since all the enemies move so fast and the "hero" ship doesn't shoot fast/consistently enough to focus fire on one single target. While this makes the game a bit more difficult to play it's definitely faithful to the game theme so great job!

Thank you for your feedback! The case that you can send your ships into each other might help you to reach enough points to win. In fact, I planned to add power-ups to temporarily increase "player's" fire rate and also add randomly spawned asteroids, that could damage alien ships, but did'n manahed to do it before the submission. And I have rebalanced ships HP and points almost at the very end and didn't check it well. But still, I'm very happy, that you have some fun with it!

I was gonna say, power-ups would make this perfect! A little harsh when your ship randomly moves into a ship that was on the whole other side but I guess it makes destroying them more important than just outlasting.

Developer(+1)

You never know which direction player's ship will go next time, so yea, you have to choose would you try to destroy alien ship before it reaches player's ship or take a risk and try to dodge it. There's a tip: ships that flew past the player appear again at the bottom of the screen, so sooner or later you'll have to destroy them one way or another, otherwise you'll... run out of space!
