I really don't want to sound harsh but I like the concept, but the execution is boring.  There could be ways to improve upon the concept like many having shadow creatures come out and attack the lights.  I think having some living things (like animals or people) to raise the stakes would be nice here too.  Another interesting idea is to have a quick flash, to light up the entire environment in a moment (but will replicate the current tile that you are standing on) and the light lasts shorter than the lights you set up.

don't worry it's all good, I did think it was pretty underwhelming but I had to spend most of the jam making the art and the world gen, I'll definitely try work on it more and add more mechanics and features after the jam, thanks for the feedback

This is probably one of the most unique ideas I've seen in the jam thus far.

Thanks, hoping to improve it with the feedback from the comments here after the jam ends

I think this is a very interesing idea. The movement is really smooth and the way how the light shows the background has a great effect to it. I think the game would greatly benefit from having a tutorial and some better player feedback. The music is rather simple, but I still enjoyed it very much.

The last level was pretty challenging, but it was fun juggling the different states of the tiles and the fading light!

The theme reminds me somewhat of Loop Hero - the world is gone, but what you see exists now.

It's a very impressive technical feat that you've managed to make all of this solo in jam time without  an engine.

However, the playing experience is a bit rough as you don't really have much control over what tiles you're going to reveal, only what tiles you're going to put effort into keeping. And in that case, the black void does take away more from you than you can feasibly keep together, like a tide sweeping away a sand castle.

I would suggest trying out changing what your light reveals (or remembers identity) based on what you're standing on and develop from there. Then, you can try to keep your life crystal patch alive instead of having it die out slowly but surely. Or, for joined together patches of terrain to shrink to the darkness more slowly.

It just needs some tweaks, is all.

A lot of fun to play I like the bouncy music and the movement was nice and smooth. Revealing tiles was soooo satisfying

Short, fun arcade game. A little too random for my tastes, but fun nonetheless. One piece of feedback that I have would be to make the goals a bit easier to check (perhaps with progress bars instead of fractions). Good job!

Interesting concept, but a bit too rng heavy for my tastes. I had some bad luck streaks to where it felt like I was just waiting for enough tiles for the goals to be possible. The lights faded a bit too quickly to really strategize in my opinion. Again, definitely interesting though!

short and simple but funny idea.
