I really enjoyed this! It's a clever puzzle game that doesn't take long to figure out the basics, but you prove pretty quickly it's got a lot of applications. I did encounter a softlock bug; I held the ice man's block with the plant guy, then moved far enough away to do a warp. The result was that plant man couldn't move while in his dimension any longer.
That's side effects of only having 48 hours though. This is still a well-put together game that executed on its idea with flying colors.
Thanks so much for your praise. Sorry to hear about your bug. It's always so hard to catch every little thing. We need to see about sourcing some playtesters next year haha.
Cool concept and graphics! There is a soft deadlock though: in the part where you need to push the boxes on top of the buttons to unlock the door, if you accidentally push the box all the way to the side, you won't be able to fit your character above it and push it down
Hmm that’s too bad. Was it pushed out of your grab range too? Like you couldn’t grab it and drag it down? Btw we included a restart level button so if some silly problem like that happens you can try again (hold R).
I really like your game, and the visual glitch effects are awesome!
One thing that I found a little difficult (on the harder puzzles) was trying to remember the spatial layout of the maps and objects in both dimensions. I think that it would be helpful to be able to peak into the other dimension to see what's there or to have some sort of cross-dimensional shadow to track objects across the dimensions.
Really cool game!
yeah we really struggled with how to effectively communicate the position of objects between dimensions. One thought I had is making sure every object had a parallel equivalent, but this does reduce the number of interesting puzzles we can have. It’s certainly an interesting problem. You would not believe how mentally confusing it is to design these levels haha.
I absolutely adore the visual effects of moving between the dimensions!
Really fun concept with a lot of potential!
Glad you like the effects! They were really fun to program.
Really fun game with a great mechanic. Only thing I found annoying was that the death wasn't obvious. Plus points for the linux build.
Thanks for the feedback. Out of curiosity, were you playing on Linux? I noticed that some of our shader effects were not present on the Linux build, including a glitchy effect for dimension switching and death.
