Very good concept, I liked it! Comments below have already pointed out what is missing ;)
Thanks for playing!
I saw this being played on a stream before playing, and I found it a lot easier than they did. I think it's a fantastic core premise that could use a bit more polish and a bit more of a tutorial. I've played a few times and I still don't know what the...shield?...does. But this could go on to be a great game!
100% agreed, I intended to add text that flashes up when you pick up a component that tells you what it does but never implemented it in the end
(the shield is just able to take more hits that the rest of the components, so you can place it in front of your important pieces to protect them)
Would have loved a reset button and some sound, but otherwise fun easy mechanics and decent level of challenge.
Thanks for playing and for the feedback!
Solid experience overall. The main gameplay loop was fun and exciting to try out new weapons. The only major downside is if you lose all your weapons, there is no way to continue the game, so maybe a small weak weapon that you always have so progress doesn't completely stop? Either nice work. I played it here:
Thanks so much for playing! I 100% agree, I think the core should have a weapon in-built, unfortunately I only thought of this 5 mins after the deadline :p
Likewise I definitely wanted to add pop-up text explaining what something is when you pick it up, but it was another casualty of the time limit
Completely understandable! I only spent 8 hours on my project. Being a family man and work life take priority over these hobbies lol.
It's a cool concept and a great implementation. I missed some sfx and a quick way to restart the level. I could spend quite more time if I got these. Congratulations!
Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed it! I definitely would have liked to add sound and the restarting option!
While the presentation suffers a bit due to lack of audio, I still had a good time playing this game. Like many others have said, this game has a lot of potential.
I appreciate that you have a little "playground" befor going into the first level so you can familiarise yourself with the controls and the various items you pick up.
Thanks for playing, I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Like the concept a lot. Would love to see a more polished version (effects, animation etc.)
for the 48 hours it was a good job!
Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed it!
The general idea is really cool, but I think it lacks some balance. I feel the parts are too weak, it is hard to keep them even at the beginning. Still a cool entry, congratulations!
Agreed! There's definitely much more I wanted to do in terms of balancing stuff but ran out of time in the end
Really interesting concept. I wanted to cover my character from all directions with weapons but I suck so bad, and kept restarting the game (which you know is annoying) :`)
This is the best interpretation of the theme i've played so far. I really like how you have to balance power and size. 5 stars for originality!
Thanks for playing, I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Great concept with very high potential! Has some controlling and balancig issues (shooter balancing is kind of special pain :), but i understand, that this is gamejam work, so, very good for 48 hours!
About controls - i wasn't able to turn on mouse)
Thanks for playing!
Also yeah, it was a deliberate decision to have it be rotation left and right rather than looking towards the mouse / joystick
The best concept on this jam! I like your add a controller support. I love that, items spawn randomly, also I would like to see in your game restart button. Good job! I go play some more xD
Thanks for playing and for the kind comment!
Great concept and mechanics. Unfortunately I am not able to shoot with 'Space'. I guess I am the only one having this issue as nobody has mentioned it in the comments.
The game looks really neat though
Oh yeah that's definitely strange, nobody else I tested with had that issue.
Thanks for playing!
i actually enjoyed the concept of getting new weapons after each room and attaching them to some place on your player. if this were fleshed out a bit more, it would be a really cool dungeon crawler game (am i using that term right?). sorry to hear that the time limit didn't give you enough time to make the game reset itself but on it's own it's still a nice game :)
Thanks for playing!
Yeah there are definitely loads of things I wish I had gotten to do to flesh things out more, but that's the nature of jam games!
Super cool concept, I wish it was a bit longer so I could have accumulated an absurdly huge mass of weapons to fight a big boss or something, that would've been cool. I'm not sure if this is a glitch or not but there was no sound when I played it? Some of the art was endearing, though, and the gameplay was engaging.
Unfortunately not a bug, I just didn't have time to add any sound in the end!
I'm glad you enjoyed it, more rooms with ramping difficulty ending with a big boss was definitely the plan, I just didn't quite have enough time to make them.
Thanks for playing!
This was kinda nice, would've loved to see more levels with this concept! You can definitely build a very cool game around this idea. Well done!
Thanks for playing!
Yeah I definitely planned to add more more levels with ramping difficulty and maybe a boss, but time limit struck once again!
(p.s. the little lamp things hurt guys if they are inside the zone, and the clock increased your rate of fire - I was also planning on adding some pop-up text that told you what things did when you pick them up)
This is really cool! I like how you get to build your own character, deciding on defense and offense. Unfortunately I had to quit the game to respawn (or maybe I just missed something). Good work!
Yes unfortunately the only way to restart is to quit and then run it again. Another victim of the time limit!
Thanks for playing!
(p.s. I love your username)
The security system does not consider the files safe and therefore I could not play
Yeah I have no idea why Windows has decided that, I didn't have time to look into it before the deadline :(
If you click "more info" and then "run anyway" it should work.
