I can see the premise! I could totally see more train upgrades, more interesting choices between "Do I add more passengers, storage, upgrade engines". As-is, it was pretty easy to cap out passengers after 2 stops with my coffers overflowing.
Thank you for playing! Yes, that was pretty much the idea, and then some. But despite our best efforts we weren't able to achieve everything we came up with. It's good to know that given the state of our prototype it's apparent what our team aimed for.
This was a delightful and extremely relaxing game to play! I hope you're able to iterate on it further. You might even be able to expand to multiple trains somehow and have a mini economics game.
Thank you for playing! We're glad you found our game relaxing. Our initial idea was more stressful and challenging but due to strict deadline we transformed it into a more easy going one. Thank you for your input. Although some people find economics unnerving we may look into that possibility as well :)
I ADORED the artstyle, even more as a big fan of trains! I think I got lucky and was able to keep my reputation high, and thankfully didn't get stranded between stations. Would love to see this iterated on!
Thank you for playing! We are glad that our art style appeal to you so much. And it's good to hear that you journey was a pleasant and successful :)
Stellar presentation, although I could not manage to either go game over or improve my reputation.
Thank you for playing! Unfortunately we weren't able to implement all the mechanics in time so there's not fail state so to speak and growth of reputation is limited at the moment. We'll you definitely managed to improve our team's self-esteem by your kind comment :)
I'm a fan of trains, so I just had to play this one :D
Gotta say, I liked the music and the art! The gameplay itself wasn't bad either, just a bit basic. I figured out how to swap cars from gold to passenger a bit too late and restarted, and after that it was a breeze. By the way, for some reason I really like the fact that the stations are moving too. That had a nice feeling to it, like the game never slowed down, the train was like the bus from the movie "Speed" (I think that's the one), and the train caught up to the station instead of the passengers to the train. Love it.
Thank you for playing our game and your feedback. We're glad that you liked overall appeal of the game. Your input on gameplay is also noted. Moving stations are a bit psychedelic but I think you're onto something here :)
Really wonderful visuals, and it seemed like a very interesting beginning to a game!
Thank you kindly! Our art team appreciate the compliment :)
The art, design, and music all look and sound great! It's a shame you couldn't finish in time, but it seems like a great jumping off point for something in the future.
Yeah, we decided to cut down to what we could get running and post a proof of concept. The team seems to want to go their separate ways instead of trying to work on this project more, but it was a learning experience for us all! Too bad the aliens didn't make it in though.
what do you even do...?
At this point, mostly listen to Cashwarrior1 and MusicByRonan's excellent sounds and music, admittedly. It came out as just a proof of concept with the bare minimum mechanics included: the train goes, gold can be spent, resources can be depleted, the train can go faster or slower depending on how many cars are attached.
Backgroung is moving even if train is stopped at station.
Top of our list of non-game-crashing bugs we didn't get around to squashing before submission, lol, you're completely right.
