How does your game fit the theme?
My game fits the theme as it subverts the role of the player, giving them "control" over someone else's player. Admittedly this is probably a very loose interpretation of the jam's theme but I do think it is slightly creative.

Did your team create the vast majority of the art during the 48 hours?

No

We used pre-existing art

Did your team create the vast majority of the music during the 48 hours?

Yes

We created the vast majority of the music during the game jam

Oh I wasn't expecting for this to actually use cloud data, that was unexpected, but cool. Really cool concept, it's fun to see how others filled the questionaire

Impressive concept, well done :)

Submitted

Good concept, i think with some consequences either way it could pan out to something really interesting

While there isn't much gameplay, I love the concept of deciding the fate of other players. Coming to that realization was fun:)

Intriguing concept. It's not much of a game, but I can imagine that there wasn't much time left for it due to setting up the underlying systems. It would be really fun seeing how your character fared in the hands of other players, and if you can create a character that gets unanimously killed/spared due to their answers. Would be cool to see this expanded upon, great and creative use of the jam's theme!

Very nice idea!

this was very cool, definitely add an option to speed up the early phase though, felt a little too slow for me but otherwise great all around, good job !

Submitted

This is such great idea! it would be nice to be able to track the character you made, and have multiple decisions to make at once where you are forced to kill one and save one.

the overall moodiness of the game is great

Intriguing concept and impressive that you were able to set up something like this (that presumably uses a database) in such a short time limit! Would have loved to have seen this extend a bit further into some actual gameplay though. Maybe a game where you make a unique character build (allocating stats, picking gear, etc.) but then someone else has to actually take that character for a run in the dungeon. When they die, the character is gone forever, but if they win, that character is immortalized in some kind of leaderboard and both the "creator" and the run "player" are attributed!

Developer

I was thinking the same thing, there isn't really any solid gameplay loop. The reason? I panicked lol. I just knew that if I had to implement anything it was going to be storing characters online and all that.

Submitted

Haha, totally understandable! But hey, now you have a solid infrastructure that you could build on if you ever decided to pursue the idea further.

Submitted

What a sick idea! I can see this being expanded massively too in a complete game

Submitted

Definitely a unique concept!

Very interesting! I would love to learn how it works.

You happen to be in luck then ;). I used Godot 4 to make my game, and https://silentwolf.com/ host a plugin/online service for storing leaderboards and other sort of data. (I should also mention that this service is completely free, somehow...)

Submitted

Wow this is a really cool game. It is so interesting that the people I am judging are other peoples characters, and that they are judging mine. This is the easiest 5 star creativity rating i've given out so far

Submitted

Why do we create these characters? Just for them to suffer?

Developer

Yes. The dungeon claims more victims than it allows to escape. They are either lost forever and awaiting judgement, dead, or freed by some very kind person.

Submitted

Nice story, but what happened to my character?

Developer (1 edit)

Your character is lost in the dungeon, and is waiting to be judged by someone else. (Admittedly this isn't very apparent, my bad sorry.)

Submitted

Are the players stored in the cloud or are they just random generated ones?

Developer

They are stored in the cloud. If you tell me your character name I can tell you everything about them.

Submitted

Double

Developer

Double loves cheese, and in the event he falls to the dungeon, all he has to say is a simple "Goodbye." ;)

Submitted

Haha dope.

Submitted

I found the mechanics and 'gameplay' a little confusing, but I can't deny that the concept is SICK!

Submitted

VEry cool but no skip button

Submitted

Super cool! but i do want to know what happens to my players.

Submitted

Cool concept! You successfully diverted my expectations! I was eager to play a cool death character, the atmosphere and visuals awesome!
