Wow, what a good style, what a cool music, I'm impressed.
It was difficult to get used to the controls. Sometimes when I click to the main character, nothing happens.
Good animations tho
The art is amazing and so is the music but without any tutorial I have no idea how to actually play. I lunched the fireball at the character. She told me to stop. I lunched it in a way to not hit her. I died wtf. The instructions on the game's page are unclear. Some tutorial section even in a form of a simple text would be much appreciated.
Aesthetics are awesome and so is the actual idea, I'd love to see this thing fully realized. I think it was just a bit too big in scope for 48 hours.
I'll be honest, I spent more time vibing in the menu than actually playing the game where I simply didn't understand what to do. It's a shame because you implemented a dialogue system; you could have made a tutorial with it. Nevertheless, I enjoyed the style, and the music perfectly matched the art style.
Edit: I don't understand if you've used pre-existing audio for everything or if this "Memodem" is the Music guy of your team ?
If you used pre existing audio, that's a good fit but if one of you made it, then give this guy an Award now !
Game's oozing "juice" with the narration and presentation, although arguably it would've been better if that dev-time went towards explaining how to play (which took up most of my time, hahah) since it's not really a "pick up and play" mechanic, needs some explaining. Amazing presentation, great humor otherwise!
game looks amazing but screen went white in what i guess as second part of attacking tutorial
Okay right out of the gate amazing presentation! The game looks fantastic. The writing is also hilarious. I think it could be better explained how the player interacts with the space, and if you plan to do a future update I would def recommend adding some more visible feedback to player mouse clicks. My second part of the squids fight broke, and I could not place anything down, so I restarted. I got to the the fan mail conversation with Stamps and robot uprising, I really really love the writing. I think the idea behind the mechanics and gameplay is really strong, and I would love to see this fully fleshed out! Good work!
Amazing artstyle! Love it! Controls and rules a bit hard to understand but it's okay.
after a bit of messing around, I've now learned how to play the game. I recommend making it a bit more intuitive down the line, but since it's you guys, I have no doubt that's possible! Also, this game has STYLE. Serious Style.
This was great, even if it was unfinished. The characters and music give it a really cool style, and I'd love to see this as a full game with more levels and the movement bug fixed.
The one thing I'm not really sure about is the bullet pattern being reset on death. The main gameplay loop seems to be about using trial and error to make a pattern that can hit Strikes' movement and dodging, so its kind of a pain to have to rebuild the pattern from scratch every time, but with a small change.
This is the most polished submission I've played so far! Mouse inputs are a bit finicky, though.
Other than that, I love the artstyle, I love the music, and I love the dialogue!
The intro was insane! Lovely artwork, and great sounds. It feels bold and bombastic, lots of personality! That said I found the gameplay a bit confusing.
Loved the intro at the start! Very good art and sound, and chuckled at the evading taxes line, also clever character designs. However, the gameplay felt a bit lacking, good vibes though!
So, I liked the art style. However, even with your explanation, I had serious trouble figuring out what I was supposed to. Also, the game is huge. I have reasonable sized screen but it couldn't show all of the game at once without me zooming out.
