Now I knew how hard to be a scorekeeper XDD
I like the concept that you are basically playing as a human score-recording machine.
Definitely a "role reverse" that I would never think to be gamified. However, you successfully did it, making it a game that challenges the player's observation and reaction skills, instate of making it a boring recording job.
Well done, good execution and realization.
Thanks so much :)
Fantastic idea for a game, and great execution. I was surprised how intently I ended up following the small ship.
Thank you :) It was fun to make!
Really great and fun concept of accountant simulator! :D
Maybe it would be nice to have some additional tip if I have too many scores or too few to the target in the interim checks. Also key bindings for me was not so comfort. But overall good job!
:) Thanks heaps for the feedback.
I'm keen to update this once the jam is finalised and I'm allowed to edit again in a day or so, so I'll try work in your feedback and some other suggestions too. Feel free to check in again in a couple of weeks and see if the next update plays better :)
Started off pretty accurate, laughed out loud when the massive swarm of ships showed up. Fun concept, great execution!
Thanks so much, and I'm glad you're getting a laugh out of how stupidly crazy it gets after a while :)
This was a ton of fun! I liked the addition of the score multiplayer for some extra difficulty. One suggestion I would make is to make it so that the jet doesn't kill anything right before the score check happens because I would often loose because I didn't add the 300 points that just barely got added.
Glad you enjoyed it :)
Yeah, a 300-point ship plus x2 multiplier getting shot just as the score check happens isn't fair at all, even if you're adding a couple of hundred points higher than you need just for a bit of buffer for that. I'll experiment post-jam with having the ship not fire new shots while the scoring is being checked, and/or have some sort of allowance for missing points that should have been added within the last second or two before the check. Thanks heaps for the feedback!
Ooh second person I see with the cool idea of keeping track of the score.
The slide up and slide down keys seem both kind of unusable but also hilarious to panic adjust your scores after a misclick, I love them.
Haha, glad you love the horrible but last resort panic option of the slide buttons. They also make for a stupidly hard different way to play if you want an extra challenge of only using the slide buttons ;)
Such a funny idea I love it. The controls being so high on the keyboard felt off, but I am also more of a casual gamer and I know people do use those for hotkeys quite often, so take that with a grain of salt. I am also very bad so I did not get very far into the game, but overall it seems very cool.
Score Board Says: aaaaAAAAAHHHHH
Actual Score: 9000
Haha, I'm glad you had the fun version of absolute panic :)
Once the comp is done and I'm allowed to edit this again, I'll add a couple more keyboard layout (happy for suggestions on what would be more comfortable) as well as an extra game mode or two to make things easier/retryable/embarrassingly way off score but doesn't end the game.
Feel free to pop back and try the 1.1 version when it's up in a week or two :)
I've calculated my risks, but man, am I bad at math.
Heheh, yep it took me forever to test the later parts of this game because I sucked at keeping track of it all and couldn't guess well.
cool idea, good execution, there should be way to "recover" when you put score badly, like maybe 3 lives, when score is bad then 1 live is taken, and score is corrected
Thanks so much :) I've been putting ideas together with the feedback I'm getting here, so when the comp is over and I can edit again, I'm thinking of adding a couple more game modes. I really like your idea of lives and a score reset. In a way, using that mode and setting to just one life is what the game currently is.. so an option to set how many lives you get would give players the opportunity to set their own difficulty. Thanks for that :)
This is super fun! I love the concept, one of the most creative ones I've seen in the jam so far! Genius! The difficulty is just right, and it's easy to get lost in the simple but fun mechanics. Overall amazing entry!
Thanks! It was fun to make :)
Looks great! Really fits the theme. Surprisingly difficult to keep track of the score, but it's a fun challenge. Really good submission!
Button layout feels a bit weird? I think it's because the buttons are very far apart. Maybe it could be improved by remapping it to:
[1] +50
[2] +100
[3] +200
But that could also bring it's own issues.
Thanks :) One the comp is over and I can edit again, I'll add in a couple more keyboard layout options including that one.
I really liked this. It's a clever idea, which kinda feels like a Mario Party minigame. I don't really have any notes. If I were doing this, I might setup the controls differently, but I don't think that's a real issue. Good job with this.
Thanks for the feedback :) Any thoughts for a more comfortable control scheme? or perhaps I should brave the "customise keys however you like" feature?
Good game, super creative! Like the other commenter (on the itch page) I wish there was an end in sight - that would motivate me to replay.
Thanks, and that's a really good point. I could put a little percentage completion thing up in the corner perhaps.
Since publishing, I haven't actually managed to get to the end yet myself! I was about 10 seconds away from the finish on my best attempt, but only I would know how close that was as there's no indicator on screen. Looks like I've got some post-jam updates to add :)
