The concept is really nice. It was a small and fun game.
My balls didn't seem to curve like yours. Not sure what I did wrong, but I still had fun with it, I just couldn't knock anyone out. I thought the idea was good, I think it was my favorite golf game this jam. Solid!
o thanks :D
hmm, if i understand you i think you mean that the balls go above the players despite aiming properly no? I made it so that you need to tilt the hole forward like at 90% not fully tilted forward for the auto aiming to work (yea in hindsight this feature seems like a bug now lmao)
I found it incredibly entertaining, and the clean artistic style was a great choice. Honestly, it's a fantastic game.
ay thank
Cool concept, fun gameplay and i like the artstyle even if its very simple. The controls feel a bit weird at times though.
o, thank)
can you please explain in more detail whats wrong so that i know how to improve it?
Of course! I should have specified it a little better, now looking back at it i realized it was more of a visual problem, i found it to be very hard to aim whilst moving which was most likely because it was very hard for me to know where the ball would go. I believe that was the cause.
oh i see
yeah someone else said a crosshair would help so yeah, thanks for the feedback
Very fun game and cool interpretation of the theme. The art are a little bit simple and could better but I liked this style. Very nice game, only suggestion is that maybe it's better to restart with the R key instead of ENTER as it's nearer to WASD. Great job!
Thanks :D
Yeah I didnt use any engine just html with javascript painting on canvas so I had to make a compromise with the graphics lol, but am proud that it looks like a game at least
This was really fun, and such an unique concept. Very good job. !
One little thing, Enter to restart is a bit anoying because, my hands are not placed to press enter if I will have to use wasd + mouse
thank)
lol yeah i thought the same thing whoops
everythings a lesson tho
Really unique and interesting idea: golf hole that fires back! I love it!
Unfortunately, it was way too fast for me to enjoy. It shot too many balls at me and it seemed like if i didn't shoot the ball out fast enough I would lose... but the controls weren't responsive enough to let me shoot them out fast enough. Maybe my mouse was somewhere it shouldn't have been but I couldn't see it.
Keep up the good work though! You've got an interesting take for sure.
thanks))
Ah the <cant shoot balls fast enough> is a game mechanic-
i think it actually needs a proper introduction to how the game works so that people know how to play xd
I like the idea a lot, but it's definitely really hectic at the start. If it starts with one golfer, hitting balls at a much lower rate, you can slowly ramp it up and add more golfers as the game progresses.
mhm)
Does anyone have a suggestion on how to not overwhelm the player in the beginning?
i think having a countdown timer before the game starts would help you prepare and then i'd probably increase the amount of time between each player spawning and potentially the velocity of the each of the balls. the game just operates really quickly, which is fine after a while but very jarring on first playthrough. obviously you would make it more difficult as the game goes on and that would be fine, but just an easier baseline to start on would be a great change I think personally.
hm, i see
yeah. or maybe a optional playable tutorial thingy
maybe start with one ball at a time in the beginning
let the player get the hang of the game, the win and lose conditions
overall i did get the hang of it tho XD
hmm i wonder if i can somehow implement a "invisible tutorial" for this game like how valve does
