Very cool idea and visuals. Good job!

Developer

I took a long time brainstorming ideas, so I'm glad the one I went with worked out!

Loved the concept, humour and presentation! awesome entry :D

Developer

I'm glad you liked it, thanks! I definitely wanted this to be a goofy game.

i survived with 140 seconds!

Really fun and visuals.

The little screaming sound effect is really funny haha. Absolutely love the concept and feel of the game, this is one of thoes games i would reccomedn you work on it post jam!

I would be happy if you checked out my game.

Cheers!

Developer

Thanks! If I had more time, I was thinking I might have made levels of some sort that you need to guide the hero through. That might be something I look into post-jam!

Great visuals and gameplay! Very unique idea! I think you'll definitely get into top 100!

Developer

Thank you, that means a lot to me!

I love the style and the game is fun, but when I was beeping the little dude just ignored me. Otherwise, funs and visaral.

Developer

Thank you! When the health starts to beep, the goblin will try to avoid the health bar and actively move away from it due to the noise, though the effect is not too pronounced until the health bar turns red.

This game is simple, but it explores the theme in a less obvious way in my opinion. A straightforward interpretation would mean playing as enemies, but here we play as a third entity that is neither the hero nor enemies.

I do feel like the theme is quite limiting this time, seeing many games do the same thing like reversed tower defense, but oh well. You did well on that front nonetheless.

As for the gameplay itself, it’s hard to play with a bad touchpad (i.e. without a mouse), so I had to grab my mouse to do play it properly. :) I like the low-health mechanic, but most of the time I just bumped the goblin with my healthbar (sometimes I did that on accident).

Cheers.

Thank you! When I initially came up with this idea, I wasn't sure if there would be a lot of other games like it in the jam. I'm curious to see how others might have implemented an idea like this!

Very fun and satisfying!

Developer

Thank you!

Very fun game! Chaotic after a while, but interesting idea and a fun spin on the theme!! Also loved the art style. All in all a great entry!

Developer

Thank you! I initially wasn't sure if this idea would be unique or if a lot of people would think of something similar.

In love with your art style! Super enjoyable to look at and it elevated the game a bunch! Super simple to pick up and super satisfying to knock several enemies together and wipe em out! Nice job!

Developer

I'm glad you liked the art style! These game jams have been a nice opportunity to explore how to quickly make effective and emotive sprites. And knocking out enemies was actually one of the later additions I made to the game, so I'm glad it fits well!

this game is really fun!

the art is just amazing it's unbelievable how you made it in 2 days!

and also my game isn't getting many views, can you try it and give me some feedback ?

Developer

Thank you! I really wanted the game to look polished.

Very creative idea and satisfyingly juiced-up gameplay. Amazing job!

Developer

I think juice is really important in selling the impact of action in a game. I'm glad you thought it was effective!

Really liked the idea! I enjoyed the challenge of keeping stuff away while guiding the little fella.

Developer (1 edit)

Thank you for your feedback! I wanted the goblin to give off the energy of a reckless toddler who doesn't learn from his mistakes.

Submitted

Rad idea - simple to pick up, and executed with polish! Audio and visual feedback was on point, I enjoyed the game a bunch!

Developer

Thank you! I always really enjoy trying to polish my games. I am a firm believer in the power of particles systems in adding juice to a game.

What a quirky idea! Really enjoyed the gameplay loop of trying to protect the goblin while also trying to guide him toward health potions.

Developer(+1)

I'm glad you liked it! I wanted the difference between the low health state and the high health state to add some complexity to the gameplay.

Presentation is just great, wich makes it quite enjoyable.

Developer

Thank you! I tried to give the health bar and the goblin more character through their animations. The health bar was surprisingly fun to animate.

Submitted

Awesome idea, and lots of fun! Love how the animations for the health bar become more intense when you get to low health!

Developer

Thank you! The health bar is such a strange character because it is basically just a rectangle. The intense expressions of the eyes try to make up for a lack of mouth and hands.
