How does your game fit the theme?
Your job as a cat is to chase the mouse to get points. But because I forgot to fix a bug in the game, after some time the roles will switch - now the cat chases you and you have to run away.

I like the concept, the art is so good. If you want can you rate my game?

Great concept! Execution could be better. I am guessing you’re trying to learn AI and navigation? I think the game could be easily cheezed.

Nonetheless, if it’s fleshed out more, I think it would be a fun game of cat and mouse!

I like the art style you chose for this, and of course,  I also like that you decided to go the route of cat and mouse lol.

Go Godot!  Nice sound effects...   I noticed that the cat stopped chasing the mouse if it got too far away.  I guess that's realistic, but then you can just wait on the other side until roles get switched...  If you would like to support a fellow Godot creator, come check out my submission.

Thanks for the feedback!

The cat stops moving because it tries to move towards the mouse but the wall stops it. This is a bug that I tried to fix but that caused more problems.

I'm currently working on an update and it will be here after the game jam!

Also, Godot go bRRRRRRR

Cool idea! The sound effects were very funny, did you make them? One thing tho I would suggest either not having bright flashes or having a warning before they happen, that one when you swtich kinda hurt my eyes

Thanks for playing! Yes, I made the sound effects as a last-minute touch, because a game with no sounds or music is boring. I didn't make the music in time, so that's probably the reason, why it sounds hilarious. I was thinking if I will add something like a photosensitive seizure warning or how to make the error effect without being too bright and flashy in the eyes, but in the end, this is the result... I think if there was something like a timer on the screen, you could be more ready for it and plan ahead, but that could also ruin the first impression of the game. I'm now working on a bugfixing update with more features and stuff and every piece of feedback is valuable to me. Thanks!

That was really good for your first game jam. The animation when you swap between cat and mouse was really cool. Gameplay aside, I think the idea is really cool. If you want to make it harder with an update after the jam, an idea maybe: when you are a cat there are many mice all around, which die in 1 hit. When you are a mouse, there are a number of cats equal to the number of mice you killed last round... Also the enemies get stuck on walls super easily so probably reduce or get rid of the friction on the walls

Thanks for your feedback! In the end I decided to make a better player following algorithm for the mouse and cat, so this problem will be gone with the update. For the harder difficulty, I wanted to just make the cat/mouse faster, but your idea seems more clever and fair at the same time! In the game it kinda looks weird to eat the mouse while the mouse is invincible, because there is no more point in eating it. With this idea, it looks more realistic and I like the fact that your play as a cat will affect the game later!

I love the concept that I have to run away from past me!
if there was more time, it could be very polished and well made game I think...such as acceleration and better AI
well done overall!

Thanks! I think that I had a pretty good idea in my head and then executed it in the worst ways possible... Anyways, I'm working on a fix and it will be here after the jam!

sounds wonderful! good luck I'm looking forward to it :)

Congrats on your entry!! I was able to get up to 3200(^v^)The physics needs some tweaking, but considering there were only 2 days to make the game I understand. This would work as a very fun mobile game.

Developer

Thanks for playing! This was my first game jam ever and I'm working on a fixing update that will be released after the jam! I will probably add some tweakings for the score system, because the game is too easy. Also, congrats for making it into the game  (^v^)

Interesting take on the theme, my main issue was how slow they both are to control. But otherwise a cool idea.

Developer

Thanks, I understand that the controlling isn't as fast as I originally wanted to be, but I'm working on a fix and it will be here after the jam!

Interesting way to see the theme! I loved the sfx, very funny. the only criticism I would make is that the controls are a bit heavy, but anyway very cool!

Developer

Thanks, I agree that the controls are unresponsive and I will fix it after the jam.

A cool take on the theme. Very fun sound effects!

Developer

Thanks a lot, I had a lot of fun making the sounds for the game!

Couldn't open it on my PC, says file is invalid :(

Developer(+1)

Hmm... May I ask which version of the game did you download? At the moment I can only help you by saying that the .exe and .pck files must be in the same folder and with the same name.

Submitted

Hi, I was finally able to make it work with the 64bit version.

The controls feel a little unresponsive, but otherwise I love the art style and the concept for the game, great job!

Developer(+1)

I'm happy to hear that my game isn't as bad as I thought it would be! I agree that the controls should be more responsive and I will try to fix it after the jam will be over. Thanks for the feedback though!
