heheh the art really reminded me of soul knight, and I like the clever take on the theme! Great job!

Developer

Thank you! I haven't played soul knight, but I'll definitely give it a try!

It looks very pleasing and the concept is interesting, the pixel art looks very good. Really nice art and cool idea. :)

Very nice take on the theme and really nice sprites!
I feel like there needs to be some sort of limit to how much healing the player can take from priests. To me, the optimal way to play seems to be just pressing left and right repeatedly (so that the wizard effectively stays in place without taking damage over time) while surrounded by priests. This way I could offset any damage taken from damaging priests since I would be always be hit by priests.
Overall, a great submission!

Developer

Thank you for playing and thank you for the balancing suggestions! I will take them in consideration whem I update the game after the jam

Cool damaging/healing system. the game needs different tiers of priests and more variation. I found a way to shove some priests into some walls while shooting causing them to die fast while sometime teleporting to the other side of the wall.

Developer

I will look into adding more enemy variety after the jam is over, and the bug with priests teleporting through walls is a new one to me, thank you for reporting it!

The mechanics confused me at first, but I got the hang of them. Nice art and the upgrade system was unexpected but awesome.

Developer

Thank you for playing my game! I wish I made the upgrade system more obvious as a lot of players seem to like it and I feel that some might get bored from the first wave and not reach it

Very cool idea and fun gameplay. I like how it's more of a balancing stats game than a top down shooter!

Thank you! Happy to hear you enjoyed my game!

This fits the theme really well. The game is really well balanced the fact that standing still makes you lose health to prevent you from milking priests or the curses that occasionally occur to make the enemies a bit more dangerous. I also love the upgrades they made me think about what to prioritize. Yeah I love this game well done.

Developer(+1)

Thank you very much! I did try to cover as many exploits as I could think and solve before the deadline, I'm glad you had fun!

Nice work! Took a bit to get the grasp of it until the upgrades rolled in. I think it might help a bit to either make the first wave smaller or start the player off with one of the perks. Very fun!

Developer

Duly noted, thank you for the feedback!

Very nicely made! The text feels like it can sometimes be a bit hard to read, because of it being very busy on a very busy background, but if that is the most negative thing I can find, then I think you did great! Definitely enjoyed playing it.

Developer

Thank you so much for trying out my game, I'm glad you enjoyed it!

A clever role reversal. I like the core mechanics you've built, and especially the art style. You are a gifted artist, my friend. Great work on this game! Funny title, too!

Developer

Thank you so much! I usually struggle with the art of my games, so it's wonderful to hear when someone appreciates it!

i didn't really "get" the idea until the first upgrade, but then i was immediately sold. every time i had to pick one i instinctively locked into something i thought sounded really good (or at least it would normally), only to think "wait it's actually gonna do the opposite oh no"

it's a really fun experience and as others have said it's def something you could explore further if you want

Developer

I'm so happy to hear it clicked with you! I was afraid that the first wave would be too boring and some players wouldn't reach the upgrade part to see the full concept of the game.

This game is pretty fun! One of the most polished entries I’ve played. It does leave me kind of confused about the goal of the game, since even though Merlin doesn’t know they’re there to help him, since I do, it removes a lot of the challenge that enemies normally bring.

I did find a bug though: the priests keep their upgrades after you restart.

Developer

Thank you for trying out my game! I was thinking about a peaceful way to defeat the enemies but I couldn't find one that also gave you incentive to shoot them and engage with the main mechanic.

Submitted(+1)

Perfect concept of the game. Only shooting, but it's not so easy to defeat the enemies.

Developer(+1)

Thank you for the feedback! I didn't have enough time to test the balance and tweek the damage values accordingly, but I hope you had fun regardless!

For sure! I enjoyed the game :)

I love the concept, it fits the theme perfectly and you made great use of it.

I found the constant spawn of healing items great because it gave a real purpose to moving in the room. Other than that, I had fun and the rules were simple enough to understand!

Well done!

I'm glad you enjoyed my submission, thank you!
