really like the original graphics
Concept has been done multiple times but execution was good
Thank you very much for playing! Just to clarify, do you mean you have seen other games where you control level elements instead of the main character? Do you mean a platformer where you control the obstackles,? Or do you mean specifically a Subway Surfer style game where you control the obstackles? Just curious how original our concept is as I personally haven't seen many games like it. :)
Cool game. Mabye it's just because of the pirate theme, but it kinda rememinds me of the monkey island games.
Really great work! Love the art style and the just one more run feeling of the game play.
Great concept and engaging gameplay. The 3d art and animation looks amazing for such a short developement time. The game is tricky to get the hang of, but ultimately really satisfying and rewarding to play. I think overall my only complaint with the game would be that you should've added some indication as to what to click at the hand drawn screens, cause I was stuck for some time just keyboard smashing to see what could advance the scene. Keep up the great work my guy👍
What a cute concept! Got stuck for a minute in the start screen, didnt realize you have to press space :D But overall, the aesthetics and sound design are superb! Well done~
Music, sounds and a 3D game with animations - ambitious! I was stuck for a while with the hand drawn art, because I didn't realize that you had to hit space bar to continue. Learning the controls was really hard when they weren't on screen (didn't notice the hand drawn controls posted until later, and they'd be more handy during the run too). I played the game roughly thirty times but I couldn't get the springs to work properly (other than the animation). He jumped up and then instantly teleported back down every time (and the springs didn't fire the other times), so unfortunately I didn't get very far.
Thank you for taking thirty minutes of your time to play our game! How the game works is that there are three levels, sand, wood and trees. Whenever you use a spring you go to the level above the one you are currently on. The levels are randomly generated but are always possible. I assume the level you played had a spring and immediately afterward air, making you fall down again. If you want to stay up you need to use a ladder or spring underneath ground so the pirate stays up. Thank you for playing.
@Rowlof I definitely didn't realize the levels were randomly generated - that's impressive! Thanks for explaining how the springs work, but I don't think your procedural generation correctly checks if the level is possible. Because both my first and now second launch of the game had levels where it wasn't possible: https://imgur.com/a/jH9hLg3
Most of all, I'd display the controls at all times - ideally showing them in combination with the obstacle it controls (so you know what they look like). Ideally there should be a short tutorial level with one of each obstacle and you have to press each of them to make it, with a moderate distance between each obstacle and failing if you don't press it. I'd definitely try to make the controls more responsive too. And lower the volume of the music a bit. But great work - procedural generation definitely helps with making longer gameplay, and I wish I had time to do something like that for my game.
Awesome game! I really enjoyed the hand drawn art! The gameplay was also super unique! I'd recommend making the controls a bit less complicated. Great job!
Very cool idea! I wish I could play more, but the controls are not very easy with a casted arm ^^' The music could maybe be lower too! These apart, it's a game I really enjoyed discover!
