Thanks for playing! This was a game jam entry created in 30 days, so we are missing a lot of quality of life features you may expect due to time constraints.

The plan is to revisit development in March with your feedback and other's to make the game better.

Sorry about the web build issues.

We had a lot of fun making the game and would be open to continuing their story, but first we want to go back and make this game resemble our original vision without the time constraints nagging us.

It means a lot that you took the time to play and comment. Thank you.

Thanks so much for playing!

Could you expand on the issues you had with the camera on mouse and keyboard?

You are not the only one to give feedback that the camera was difficult with the mouse and I really want to fix that.

If I turn the look sensitivity down in the settings or pause menu the camera is easy for me to control with my mouse on my setup.

But another user said even when they set look sensitivity all the way down they still had trouble with the camera.

Thanks for giving a shot!

I keep incrementally improving the camera/character controller every time I recreate it in a new project. I am horrible with mouse and keyboard controls as a player, so I have trouble knowing what will feel good to KBM users.

I really appreciate you giving it a look. Your entry is hands down one of my faves of the jam so far.

Nice work. There are some ambitious ideas here, but overall the gameplay didn't connect with me in the same way the art style did.

This made me smile the whole time. Thanks for publishing something unique and fun to play!

This game is really great! I love the art and the music. My partner and I enjoyed passing the controller back and forth puzzling it out.

I found the puzzle aspect was held back by unnecessarily difficult platforming challenge. We were often frustrated that we knew the solution, but had trouble executing the jumps.

All-in-all this a really polished and fun submission. Congrats on making something cohesive.

Cool concept! There is a lot of to like here. I was trying out new abilities left and right.

My only critique is that I don't think I fully utilized all three spell books and felt like I needed to stop and do inventory management somewhat frequently. I imagine with practice I would be using more than 1 spell book, but as a newbie I was just swinging out there.

The voice acting was a welcome surprise.

I loved the zen vibes during the mini games. Nice job and unique theme interpretation!

Thanks! We had a lot of fun making it.

There is a distance from the player where the punch attack is the only attack it is calculating odds on. It is possible you were repeatedly pushing them into this "sweet spot" with your air attacks. Anyway, thanks for giving it a look :).

Your submission looks awesome BTW adding it to my list to play tomorrow.

Thanks! I really wanted everyone to be able to see the endings regardless of their platforming or combat skills :).

Thanks for giving it a play! I had a great partner on this project doing the art. I'm so pleased with how the art direction came together.

That explains it! I will download and give it a shot later tonight.

What an ambitious game for a game jam! I can tell a whole bunch of hard work and passion were put into it. I found the lateral jump to be a little unintuitive, but I eventually got it.

The Spiro vibes are definitely present.

Not sure how long this takes to beat, but it gives me the vibe that there is a full story to uncover.

Cool game! The team should be proud.

Nice work building a puzzle game that fits the theme! I had some issues understanding that the buttons were triggering things to appear elsewhere in the scene, so a sound cue or something to let me know that I was doing something with the buttons would've helped.

Love the character art.

I see now that this was an issue with Floating!

I hope you had fun and come back to finish now that you can float!

Thank you for playing! We were super inspired by Cuphead and Psychonauts.

Sorry about the camera. You can adjust the sensitivity and inversion settings in the start and pause menus of the game!

The combat was supposed to be a bigger part of the game, but we ran out of time to implement other enemies besides the final fight. Classic game jam stuff.

Can't wait to try your game out as well!

Thanks for playing! You can adjust the camera sensitivity settings in the pause menu.

Bummer about not floating! We tried to make the tutorial something you had to see at the beginning.

Glad to hear the browser build played nicely on your setup. I hope you got a good ending :).

Edit: forgot to mention if you feel like any platforming sections are too hard you can always Skip To Next Checkpoint in the Pause menu.

Oh no. We are finding that now that more people are trying it out that the browser build is a little finicky.

If you can try the Windows build out that will provide better performance.

If anyone else feels stuck by platforming challenge you can always Skip To Next Checkpoint in the Pause menu.

*Glad this wasn't actually a technical issue :)

This is awesome! I have been working on grid inventory game (outside of the jam) and I am digging how your inventory items have cutouts. The system I have developed works great for squares and rectangles, but yours is a cut above. Really great art and the game that fits the theme really nicely.

It's got a satisfying bubble-wrap popping type thing going on. Really nice art and it was oddly satisfying to swing my cursor through the fog at the end. Good job!

Chill vibes. Wish it had a little more depth, but I really loved the presentation.

Nice work.

I lowkey have no clue what to do. Left clicking the mouse didn't seem to do anything for me. I read the tutorial I just think my mouse button clicks were not being registered..? I liked the music and general vibe.

This was awesome! I really did have to work at a few of the puzzles - I also dig the theme play on words. As another user suggested having on screen UI controls would have been helpful I kept forgetting pause/play/rewind controls in the moment.

I think there is a good nugget of an idea here. Nice job!

Loved the use of dark humor. I wish it was a bit more reactive, but it's a jam so maybe later. It has potential to be a bit like the old Text Based RPGs.

A perfect run! This made my night. Congratulations and huge thank you for giving it a complete look.

Thanks! I think I was too ambitious trying to support controller in addition to keyboard and mouse. The controller controls actually ended up being better, which is unfortunate given that most players will use KB&M. I definitely learned a bit about scoping and prioritization there.

I really like the aesthetic of your game Toybox Attack! Good work.

At certain point I was just running a click vortex farm lol. I really enjoyed this - great work.

Really great work! Love the art style and the just one more run feeling of the game play.

Really cool, surprisingly chill. Great work!

Sweet game. Art style and music are top notch!

This was legit amazing. The presentation and concept were spot on. Unfortunately, when I finally got ball into place it didn't affect the button.

Truly one of the best games I've played from this jam so far.

This reminds me of the flash games I used to play in 2004 in the best way possible! Absolutely awesome game. Great work.

Cool concept and great execution.

Nice entry- I definitely got better as I went on. At first, I had no clue who was shooting me and spent longer than I want to admit trying to find out where the shot was coming from (spoiler it's behind you on the ground level).

Cool concept. Loved the opening art.

Nice work- I wish we could slow the tempo down a little as an option for people that lack rhythm like myself. I really like the concept though and think there is cool potential in this seed of an idea.

Shout out to another twist on the platforming genre! I did a twist on the 3D platformer for my entry :).

Thank you! If you get a chance to play with a controller it is a MUCH improved experience.

Your entry is awesome BTW. Super chill and engaging.

I love the concept- just the idea of a video game cameraman having to follow my player character around puts a smile on my face. I agree with others that it's a tad difficult. Really cool concept.

Oh yea I really wanted to address the mouse controls being so sensitive, but 48 hours is not a lot of time working solo. FWIW, I think the gamepad controls are much better.

I really appreciate the comment. I had a lot of fun making it!

Great presentation. I really liked chomping more than protecting. What does that say about me?
