This is such a cool concept!! I love placing blocks to manipulate the snake. It's also really difficult omg o.o

I think it would be easier to grasp if the snake moved a little slower, at least at the start.

Thank you!

Wasn't sure what the book did, but nice twist of classic Snake game!

Developer(+1)

The book unlocks new types of blocks, and i know, it's extremely unintuitive - i was originally planning for more of an level up system where you needed more of those books to learn new blocks and an indication of unlocking them, but i had to settle on the current system due to the lack of time.

In any case, thank you for your support!

I think this has a lot of potential.  It's fun, it could do with some balancing and I think teleport needs to be reworked (probably gives you two and just teleports you to the next portal, using it.  The way it is now is super chaotic and hard to play with any intentionality.)  Also I think the snake should be slower, because this is more puzzly arcade and I think it would fit better.  But amazing job, really good for a first submission.

Yes, looking back, making the snake slower would probably be a good idea. I also agree that the portals could use a bit of of an rework to be a more strategic block (maybe i could make different coloured portals that teleport only to the same colour? That way it you could differentiate between them more easily).

Anyway, thank you for your support!

Cool idea!

I do agree some intro would be nice, as it takes a while to learn, but it's a fun idea and flows nicely.

Thanks!

Some form of intro or tutorial would have been useful, I was just randomly clicking trying to see if anything happened, but once I figured it out it was quite neat!

Developer

Thank you! I'll add one next time :)

I took me a while to figure out what I was supposed to do, but it is a great idea for a twist on snake. When I died I accidentally clicked again and was taken straight off the game over screen back into the game so I didnt get chance to see my score, so many just a short timer on that screen before clicking is registered. But overall a good idea and a fun little game, nice work

Developer

Thank you! I'll keep that in mind!
