This is such a cool concept, and a great take on the theme! The rules and mechanics are simple, but put all of them together and it becomes super chaotic and fun. I especially liked the Chargers, there's something satisfying about sending a horde of them towards a particular direction, wreaking havoc.

If I had one tiny bit of criticism, it's that I didn't know that the selected entities "fired" towards the cursor, and was slightly confused initially. I did go through the tutorial, but because it's all in plain text and not an interactive tutorial, I didn't quite translate the words into the actual desired gameplay. But even then, not too big of a deal, since the game itself basically teaches it.

This game is so intuitive I played perfectly fine skipping the tutorial. My only issue is not being able to go fullscreen, which I believe should be easily fixable from just the itch settings page.

The gameplay is a 5/5. Playing as some sort of hacker and just manipulating everything around you is really fun. Enemy variety is great, they're all simple but unique to create near infinite number of situations. You guys nailed the Oomph and polish. Great colors and clarity, never felt any confusion or clutter.

Okay time for personal nitpicks:

  • game scales a little too early, I think a 3-5min gameplay is ideal for this situation
  • music feels a little too metal, a little too intense from start to finish. A buildup would be nice
  • replayability feels low for the amount of fun I had, maybe because there's nothing pushing me to keep going
  • art is too simple, certainly pretty, but not very attractive
  • its kinda hard to tell when laser guy will shoot

That said, this game definitely deserves more attention. For a team of three, this is really well done. Also my highscore is 5025 :)

My bad, more things to add on after reflecting.

For the music part, I think it's less of a music choice and more of a playstyle discrepancy. I played my last few runs in silence and I enjoyed the game even more.

Even though it's supposed to feel chaotic and intense, I tended to play strategically and calmly, almost in a zen-like mode. It's so fun to clear the whole screen or narrowly eliminating danger thanks to something you prepared 5 seconds ago. Reserving good units, eliminating dangerous units asap, keeping easy stuff until they're right next to you and clearing them aside all at once. I can't praise this enough.

I think essentially it's about what your going for. With the complexity of the game I think it fits a more calm/upbeat theme, than if it was simpler with more reactionary gameplay.

This game is very underrated, I love the premise and finally a strategy game! Although visually it is lacking, it would be better with actual visuals/art, the smart usage of shapes and colours really makes this game enjoyable for me, better than poorly made/drawn assets, I rather see this. The SFX and Music ties in together well, I especially love the SFX when I activate the enemies. My score, more than 2000+, just roughly playing it, I really see this as a game as something I would play. I think I really enjoyed this game a lot compared to other games as it scratches an itch, my soft spot for strategy games. I think the team behind the game are very smart and talented to figure something like this, and polish it. I love how each units has its own unique perks, and they are very well thought of. The animation is cool, I especially like the laser beams.

"Where it lacks in art, it excels in gameplay", is what I would say about this game.

Overall, definitely going into one of my top picks for this game jam. Thanks for making this fantastic game, polishing it, and making it feels so good to play. I do hope the team can find an artist to allow this team make much more amazing games!

Another feedback is, definitely make the game fullscreen mode as I keep clicking outside of the game.

Lots of great game feel and juice in this game. I found it quite difficult to survive for much longer than 30 seconds but I imagine after playing this game for a while you could survive much longer. Overall great submission

Really fun! At first I didn't realize I could destroy the attackers with the attackers. Loved playing it and is super polished!

What a clever concept! The tutorial confused me at first, but once I got into the action, it clicked after only a few experimentation. In a way our task is to make the army destroy itself, which I find both funny in a narrative way, and fun to play as well! A strong ship can change from a dangerous enemy to a powerful asset… It just works so well! Smart idea, and cool execution.

There are some small critic I'd make about the ergonomic though. First, the red outline on enemy isn't easy to read. It could have been thicker, or use better contrast, or maybe use an entirely different symbol. Secondly, I find it odd to use the space bar for a single action, that also work like a "click" (it's targeting the position of the pointer). Maybe it could use the right click instead? That way the game is entirely playable by mouse! (or maybe I've used to much Blender and I became one of the weirdos wanting to do everything with right click)

Anyway, congratulation for making this game! It has a neat concept with a very elegant design.

Wow, I really loved this concept! I feel like it was a bit hard to get the hang of — an immersive tutorial vs. the extensive text tutorial could go a long way — but definitely understand that's hard to do limited time. Super creative; thanks for sharing! :)

Cool, it does took a lot of time to get the hang of it though

Cool game, well done!

Really nice ideas, and the game is a lot of fun. Chaos is definitely the best way to describe it.

Very cool, I like how you managed to incorporate quite a lot of complexity and at points strategy with simple controls and relatively understandable (even without reading the tutorial) elements

Very cool submission, could very easily end up in the video imo
