So this game looks really great! and the concept is really clever, I love the visual design, the transitions look amazing too!

My main issues were with gameplay, I could easily pass all the levels by just spamming my units and I didn’t feel like I had to strategize, understandable that the game was bit unbalanced for a 48hour jam and can easily be fixed up after!

I would also liked to have some BGM / SFX I don’t know if it was bugged on my end but I couldn’t hear any.

Really cool concept and a unique take on the reverse tower defense mechanics!

Thanks for playing the game!! Really glad you liked it :D

There’s actually a Perfect Rank system for each level that requires you to get all of your units to the end without losing any of them, which often requires a lot more strategy ;P

Although, there’s a bug with the game on refresh rates higher than 60hz that speeds up a lot of the game functions (I had no idea what deltatime was and that Construct 2 has it before the jam lol), so if that’s been happening to you, I totally understand feeling like there’s no strategy ^^'

Very nice puzzlers, love the lore and the smooth gameplay.

One small thing, even after you have corrupted the file, you still need to send out all your remaining malware before the level ends, don't know if that's intentional?

Developer

Glad you liked the puzzles!

And yea, that’s intentional ^^'. Every level has a secondary completion goal of getting every unit to the file without any deaths (the “Pure Evil” rank), which requires all units to be sent out.

I had a lot of fun playing the game. The combination of the styles was done in a very good way. I also liked the art style you used.

Great combination of the puzzles and tower defense!

Great stuff! I really love how each level is designed so that it's possible to beat them with every single unit alive; it adds a whole new layer for players who want to perfect their strategy. Solid presentation and concept with a lot of thought put into each level's design.

Really fun, made me feel smart while playing it! BTW love the game name and your username!

Fun easy to under stand three unit system, I like that there is a perfect no units lost solution to every puzzle but you can still progress but just getting the par. Sound effects and music would go a long way but the art itself is quite fun!

Best TD game I have played this Jam - got to level 7

more units and sound effect and this is really fun!

Nice little game. I like concept, the tower defence is really good. Good job !

It's a very polished reverse tower defence game. I like it!

Also I like the game page design. It's polished too and it's great.

A very nicely polished take on tower defense, I could see there were clear uses to the timings of summoning units to make the puzzles, but would have loved to see more variety for the units so its less of a "This is the order" puzzle and more figuring out which units you need

Great game! Really polished, and the mechanics are fun to play around with. I couldn't find any better puzzle solving strategy other than just spamming random units, tho, lol. I could definitely see this turning into an official steam game that I would pay at least $10 for! Love the banner/thumbnail as well.

I JUST FOUND A NEW BUG WITH THE GAME THAT AFFECTS DIFFERENT DEVICES

For some reason the game runs at double the speed on some devices and I have no idea why? As far as I know it's happened on my other laptop that runs Windows 11. If anyone else has encountered this bug, feel free to let me know!

Looks very polished, I like the animations and aesthetic. I thought something was wrong with my audio but it's the game, it would have been a good point to add some music. Good game!

Great take on the reverse tower defense idea, the unique targeting for different enemy types is a really good basis for a puzzle game, the actual targeting for each tower was really clear once I threw my units in, no text tutorials needed. You even managed to keep the puzzles inventive enough that I wasn't really using the same solution multiple times in a row, really good work given the 48 hour time period!

A shame about the lack of audio, I think with some more enemy types and a some sound, this could work really well as a full release. My only real criticism is I think the "Pure Evil" flag could show up for a fixed "Maximum" amount of possible units for each level, since some levels make it literally impossible to save everyone. (Nevermind, this was a skill issue!)

Really glad you liked the game! ^^

It actually is possible to beat every level without losing any units - otherwise I wouldn’t have left the level designs in lol. Some of the later levels are pretty finicky, notably levels 8 and 10, but they’re all possible to get perfect scores on ;P

Can’t deny the lack of sound effects though. I was also planning on adding more unit types, like one that’s immune to turrets but has only 1hp against everything else, but time got the better of me and I had to reduce scope lol.

Omg wait... I just found a bug that makes it move TWICE AS FAST ON DIFFERENT COMPUTERS FSR???

I switched to my work computer, which runs on Windows 11 (idk if that's what's causing it). Not sure if this same thing is happening for you, but if so, I totally understand how much harder it is to beat every level that way xP

Going off the pacing of the game, I highly doubt I encountered the bug. Personally I think I'm just bad, haha

I'll definitely be going back to try and complete every level flawlessly, now that I know each level is possible. Wish me luck!

Love the gameplay and aesthetic! Hopefully you can add sounds after the jam ends :D

I loved it and above all it's strategic. It's a good game!

I really liked the minesweeper esque grid and how it transformed into the level. Just as I thought there wasn't strategy in the levels I lost one due to lack of strategy! Great difficulty curve, made it into a fun puzzle game

Great reversed tower defense game, I had fun playing it :)

Very cool idea, loved the puzzle approach. Going for "pure evil" rating is definitely the best way to play since without it the game is too easy. Would've been great if there was some ui for which units survived and which didn't (for pure evil runs) since in some levels it's hard to fine-tune your strategy without that knowledge. Really cool artstyle too

Developer(+1)

That's actually a really good recommendation! I was gonna do something like that if I had the time to implement sound effects, as each unit would've probably had their own hurt/death sounds, but a visual indicator sounds like a great idea as well ^^
