Funny seeing how we did the same idea in different ways, whereas this leans more towards the systems aspects of it. Enjoyed it!

It's amazing how you were able to draw so much art for the game! The characters were fun to interact with, and the quests were entertaining to read! I noticed that sometimes, when characters would show up in pairs, one of them would phase through the door, but that's a really minor thing! Very neat game! Great work!

Great game! Love the background ambiance of the building.

Really interesting idea! I love the character art!!

I feel like the text box is very text heavy, maybe you could split the text up into parts?

This idea is so cool, the art and variety is amazing! Props! I love the busy ambience with so many details! It would have been even cooler if the heros made an unique entrance sound! Good job!

great artwork! and interesting twist of RPG quest system
and I love the detail of highlighting keywords on the quest, that's so kind :)

Nice graphics and writing. The concept of picking the best person for the job makes a lot of sense

Amazing game! 😊

I liked the personality of the characters, the writing and the art style!

The progression of the quests is also a nice touch!

There is a lot of potential here, you could add certain events based on which quests you complete and so on!

But it is amazing you could make this in 48 hours! Well done! 😄

Very nice looking game! I am glad you highlighted the keywords which made it easier to figure out which quests were good for who. Good job!

Everyone's already saying it, but the art is immensely good! Also the amount of writing this must've needed within 48 hours... amazing

Hi! We are glad you liked our game!

Fair enough, we spent some time writing the dialogues. We wanted to make it feel like a progession in which you watch the characters grown which each mission. Thankfully, our game designer is also a good DM so he already had very good ideas about how we could drive each character's story.

Very interesting mechanic! The presentation is also very good! The first thing that comes in my mind to improve it is to see all the adventures at once before gicing them the quests. Maybe there can be a % of success and failure for each hero, depending on their skill on the mission. As a reference, you can see the garrison in World of Warcraft.

I really love the art style here. This game is clean with cohesive art and story telling. Nice job!

I've seen a couple submisisons that attempted to make a quest-giving game like this, but this is the first one I've seen that actually succeeded. Well done!

The art all looked great, the storylines and characters were all interesting, and overall everything fit together really well. The level of difficulty in interpreting and distributing quests felt just right, and I loved seeing the same characters come back and develop there stories (the paladin ordering beer after going on the quest with the dwarf was *chef's kiss*). The tutorial system with the first few days of quests being super easy to assign, but then getting harder was also great.

I don't really have anything bad to say, and I can usually find something. Excellent work.

Thank you!

Right now we're debating whether we should make a full game out of this idea, and we've been getting more enthusiastic about it thanks to everyone's support and appreciation for the game. It's still a concept though, so there's a lot of scripted stuff, plus we wanted to create special daily events that didn't end up making it because of time constraints. Anyway, we'll see what the future holds :)

This is a very enjoyable game! There are a few UI bugs I ran into that made it a bit harder, but overall I think it’s very well put together. The art is really cute as well. Great job!

It was a little much to read, but I did very much enjoy reading all these characters stories. The art was amazing, too. My only nitpick / feedback would be that you need to pay attention to your renown (small number in the corner) to know whether the quest you just gave out failed or not, which could be improved (as I want to know which quests failed, so I can learn from my mistakes).

The character design is gorgeous ! I like that you have to remind of the different informations about the heros in order to find the correct quests, it create kind of a connection with your cutomers !

Submitted(+3)

I really like the design of the characters and the idea of making playing an inkeeper a puzzle.

The overlay systems were also really well designed, and hiding the information in later rounds made the game just difficult enough to be engaging with the amount of content that can be produced during a 48h jam^^

We also thought about doing a visual novel style game but decided we had too little time to write enough engaging dialogue, so I'm really happy someone managed to do it

Developer

Thank you for playing!

And yes, we spent a good time writing the dialogues, it was a high risk but we think it paid off.

Also, this was our first game with a heavy focus on UI and menus, so there are some improvements we could make in terms of code because we were brute-forcing our way out sometimes. I know code can get messy during jams but yeah, better not to look at it lol.

We like how it turned out, although we had many more ideas for the game (like special daily events) that weren't doable because of time constraints.

I like that it has that 2005 flash game feeling, takes me way back lol

Submitted(+3)

that was so thoroughly done, wow!

lots of content, each hero has its own personality, and i love how the difficulty increases with the each round :)

first time i didn't think i should remember everything haha, but the second was successful ^^

the amount of text may seem big at first, but it is so neatly done so it is easy to process everything. just one thing here - are highlighted blue words always important and should give some ? as i could see sometimes you have the word "quest" written in blue, but it doesn't have any new information given...that confused me a bit :)

also there was one day when my hero failed one quest, but if i had 2 quests reversed, doesn't it mean that i should have two failed quests?

the art is also beautifully done. and i love that we have the same heroes that acquire new skills and even new friends! impressive work for a 48h game jam :)

p.s. it is always great to find entries devoted to the same game genre ^_^ quest givers team!

Developer

I'm glad you enjoyed the game! The words highlighted in blue were "important words" for the quest, but not everytime delivered essential information for that quest in particular. And sometimes there are heroes that can do multiple quests of the same day, we did it that way to not punish too much when the player fails 1 quest. Thank you for your feedback and for playing our game!

I really like this one. The character and world building is very good, the background music with all the tavern sounds is awesome, and the art is pretty. The overall polish of the game is super nice. Good job!

Developer(+1)

I wish we had more time for music and sounds, I added only a few ones and a low level music because doesn't wanted to kill everyone ears
