The art style is pretty good, I like the clean UI system to upgrade the player. I found the controls a bit hard though, maybe speeding up the rotation and acceleration/deceleration would help (?). Also, some warning about the incoming enemy meteors would be nice (even a simple text like "Enemies incoming!" would help) , since a lot enemy quickly swarms around the player in like 15-30 seconds and I'm completely taken by surprise on my first playthrough, haha. Overall its a pretty fun game

How does your game fit the theme?
The game is played on a cosmic scale. You get to fight enemies so large they can't fit on screen.

A great concept and fun tools to go with it. There's the amazing background music ramping-up which is extremely fun, I want to learn how to do that! The art is pretty and has a correct amount of detail. The powers are fun and whimsical enough, and the lore to back them up (especially the "noxious gases") is logical.
Things I think may use some improvement: the character controller. I'm assuming this game is inspired from LIADS. If not, you should check out their character controller and gameplay. It could be incredible helpful. The main issues I had with it was that often, I was not actually in control of Earth, and would ram into other rocks or planets even if I react to them well. The feedback on gameplay was also a little incoherent. I couldn't really tell when the other ships would come, and then within 15 seconds I'd be surrounded. It was like I was getting SWATTED haha. I think some idea that there are rocks approaching, or a bunch of enemy planets, or whether there's cash-money-moolah ahead, would all help a lot.
Final words: I am a fan of LIADS, this was extremely fun for me. I hope you can make a post-jam version with some polish and mechanical balance. Cheers!
Congrats on finishing your game!
Controlling an entire planet as a gun, shooting down giant space bombs? Absurd! I love it. The music and initial placement of a giant cannon on the north pole set forth a whacky and epic premise, and I was excited to see what was in store.
But I sat still at the start of the game for a full minute before anything happened. Nothing was on screen at all. And then I got bombarded by enemies and lost most of my health immediately. The tank controls were slow and clunky, making dodging anything or lining up a shot feel more luck than ability. But I think a lot of that felt worse because there wasn't a background. It was really hard to tell if I was moving or how fast or how the enemies were actually moving. Yes, I had a blue tail to give me a hint, but it wasn't a clear indication of speed, only direction. And did nothing to help me understand how enemies were moving. I just felt lost and confused and unable to really feel like I was doing anything. I gave it a few gos, but never quite got the hang of it. Stuff like this can be really hard to get right in any game, but a limited time jam? Super tough. The more playtesting you can have others do, the better. But even that can be difficult to find time for. It's worth it!
Still, be proud of the thing you made! Jams are an incredible place to learn and grow as a developer. There are some cool ideas in here. Keep doing game jams! Keep making games! :)
That was epic! Of course it might need to be better balanced, but it was still great fun! Congrats on your first jam game! :)
Great use of sound effects and really liked the music, it really fit! Great job!
Great music, the UI and movement could use some work. overall very solid for a game jam game!
The movement is really slow, the items are incredible difficult to pick up, and the pacing seems off. One moment I was in deep space, then suddenly I was swarmed with hundreds of enemy's. Once I got a lazer it was fairly easy.
I love the idea that humanity placed a giant engine on antarctica, and just said, "Let's pilot earth like a space ship!"
The game has a lot of potential.
This was a ton of fun! Very juicy! Rated, love it!
Cannot defeat the sun!
