How does your game fit the theme?
My game fits the theme as it has a flock of geese that starts out small but scales to be a much bigger flock by the end

Finally!!! I beat the easiest level!!! LOL
So, my biggest complaint is the steep difficulty when trying to learn the control. It's quite difficult to aim for the farmer. It took me about 5 restarts or so to be able to hit the farmer somewhat consistently (read: skill issue). I think lowering the difficulty can help smoothen the gameplay experience. There are a lot of ways to do this, one that comes to mind is to make the farmer not shoot the geese until the player hit the first farmer. It's because, at some point, there are lots of farmers in the game that it's almost impossible to target them with all of the bullets on the screen.... which in turn, makes it harder for me to learn the aim.
Once the geese become larger, it becomes easier to target the farmer and at that point, I've become comfortable with my poop aim (I can't believe you made me said this lol). When the RPG farmer comes, it doesn't seem too challenging.
Now onto the good part! As others have mentioned, I think the art, the music, and the SFX are great! It mixes together nicely with the gameplay. Good job on that part!
Also, for some reason, I have this strange feeling of satisfaction once I defeat the easiest level. It has the feel of a souls-like game to me just because of the poop-aim mechanic. I think you can somehow take advantage of this (maybe with another type of bird with a different mechanic or harder types of enemies).
Overall, great job!
Wow what a deep review of my game, thank you for that!
I agree with your comment on difficulty, as i playtested, i got used to the game and controls and therefore had an easier time. I think i could have also done a better job explaining the way the game works too to aid with that (the higher you are, the longer the bullets take to hit you, you need to be so low etc.) I think the way id do this is to reduce the number of farmers that spawn at the beginning exponentially. id also in turn like to make the rpg farmer have more impact on the experience. The poo attack could also use a crosshair or something similar i believe.
thank you for playing my game and taking the time to give such an in depth review.
Keep being a boss!
Great game! Took me a second to realize I had to drop down to collect the corn. I love the random shotgun pellets flying up like flak everywhere!
Glad you liked my my game. The indicator to drop down thing is something i for sure need to work on.
thanks for the feedback
Keep being fantastic
Very cool and creative game. Really like the art and the music too. It was a little difficult to guess where the poop would land, so maybe my only suggestion would be to add a ground marker for where the poop will fall, but it became easier once my flock was bigger.
Thanks for the feedback, that is a good suggestion that i will keep in mind for all future projects
Thanks for playing
Keep being super!
Hahaha what a strange and fun take on the theme.
I was kinda confused at first because it was a little confusing as to what I was supposed to do but after flying around a little it wasn't hard to figure out.
I didn't really understand how the farmers were hitting me I saw the crosshairs and just tried to avoid them as I assume they were a bad time and for the most part it worked out for me.
Managed to finish the game but it started to get super laggy after awhile and I stopped trying to poop on the farmers cos I think I was causing the lag myself with all the poop.
It was cool to see RPG farmers appear but I didn't really notice any impact from their appearance. It would have been nice to feel more threatened by the farmers because it was really easy just to swoop in and grab corn and then get more and more geese.
Overall it was a fun and cute little experience and a nice little twist on the theme and gameplay I would have never thought of myself.
Thank you for the feedback Ecks
I already replied to your comment in discord, however I'll take the time here to thank you for putting in the time to play my game
This is a brand new skill for me, and every jam I'm trying to get better, so the work you put into your replies doesn't go unnoticed
Thanks for playing
Keep being Ecks!
I've managed to beat the easy level, here are my thoughts:
1. Art is done well, fits together with music
2. The game seems to be quite difficult at start, but once you get a grasp of it it is balanced very well
3. I loved the visual indicators, I could easily see where I'm getting shot - but I think it's very difficult to dodge those bullets, most of the time it felt like I had to be lucky not to be hit
4. Controls are simple and done very well. I usually dislike these types of controls but here it was fine for me
5. Tutorial section is done nicely, I understood what to do
6. Goose
That last piece of feedback was the one I've needed all this time!
Glad you enjoyed my game, thank you for this in-depth review on each section
Keep being amazing
Good game, i like the idea where you can poop on people, but i was a little bit struggling to avoid the bullets and adjust the height of the geese (maybe it was just a skill issue for me). with a little adjustment, this game might be perfect. Nevertheless, it is still a good game. I really appreciate it.
Thank you for the feedback. you identified one of the problems i found a little too late in development. originally the bullets where projectiles themselves, however a its impossible to tell the position of a projectile coming straight towards. this is why old 2.5 shooters like doom have the projectiles coming below the camera so its a little easier, i switched to this model of bullets and your completely right its better than before but definitely needs some work as its still very cryptic.
thank you so much for playing my game
Keep being you!
Amazing work! It was hard to understand things at first, but very enjoyable after a few tries. I think just a little adjustment in visual (indicator & feedback) and this game could easily be my favorite 😄
Thanks for the feedback Moonawar.
I agree with you hold heartedly. the indicators themselves definitely could use some work.
glad you enjoyed my game
thank you so much for the support
Keep being awesome!
Really funny game ! It's like a giant reverse Duck Hunt XD. I really like the sounds and how the birds formation changes, it's really smooth just like how the game plays. Also where the heck did those farmers get RPGs lol. That said, I think the tutorial could explain a bit more about the height bar and that you need to descend to the marked height to collect and deposit corn. That's the only bit of flaw i could find though, everything else is really good. Awesome game !
Thank you for the feedback
Its actually funny, the RPG Farmers is based off a family friend, who is a farmer that owns a wide variety of unique weapons from history, including an RPG (although it cant fire anything as the ammunition is illegal)
Thank you for the feedback on the height bar. its one of the things as the developer i took for granted. if it wasn't for people like you playing the game id never pick up on it. this is why feedback is so important.
Thanks for playing and reviewing my game
Keep being a legend
You keep being a legend too ! P.S. that farmer family friend of yours sound so cracked XD. I imagine they won't get any (surviving) uninvited guests.
XD, so true
10 poop/10! Really cool!!!!
will shoot for 11 poops next time around XD
5 ⭐ because you can poop on people
lol, great idea and execution! congrats!
thanks for the feedback baiaooo, glad you enjoyed it.
Happy you have the same sense of humor as me :D
