This was really neat! Most creative movement system I've seen so far. The second level where you have to jump onto a moving bubble got me stuck, so I'd like to see that tuned back a bit!

yo thats a really creative idea, using the pufferfish's scaling to not just push yourself but also as a way to break obstacles and stuff. also love the music and sfx, and the game was clean and ran with no bugs. great work!

Level 3 was tough but very fun! Also the idea of the big sections at the end of each level is such a great idea, love the power trip lol. Good music choice as well, very funky

Nearly complete game imo but its impressive and inspiring to know how fast this game was made with all that look and mechanics, definitely experienced developer/s. You nearly made the most out of what simple controls there was and added various outcomes to it. Impressed with the visuals especially when its made in 3D. Best one I've seen so far, only it doesn't seem to hit hard on the Jam's theme but its somewhat there.

Really enjoyed your game, well done! Definitely one of the most creative ones I've seen, and I particularly loved the ending sequences to each level. 

If you expand upon this, I would recommend introducing some less punishing save points, as it's easy to feel like you're soft locked when you make a mistake, and goes against the otherwise very exciting and energetic gameplay.

I also found there was no reason not to hold down right click at all times, which simplified gameplay a lot. Some options I see are: 

  • Remove the need to hold the button and just have the fish scale up automatically (keeping the hype train but lowering difficulty)
  • Temporarily increase linear drag while inflating (Hype is more dependent on skill)
  • Make inflation unavailable for a short time after deflation (less hype, more puzzle focused)
