Very well done! The pixel art and animations are nice, and the gameplay concept and loop are interesting.

I could see myself getting addicted to a full version of this!

Thanks so much! We would love to make a full version if we are able to pick it up again post-jam (lots of spaghetti code to untangle, haha).

Very well done. One of the most enjoyable incremental games I’ve played recently. My pumbo scaled so big it covered the whole farm.

Thanks so much, glad you enjoyed! Well done on being an excellent pumbo farmer =P

Omg I love this game! Really well done, the shop caught me by surprise and had tons of goodies!

Developer

Thank you, so glad you enjoyed our game and all the shop goodies! :D

My Pumbo got so big i couldn't jump on top of it and scare the crows!  Really great idea and nice entry!! Happy Pumboing!!

Developer

Happy Pumboing! Sounds like you suffered from too much success, haha. Thank you for playing and reviewing, glad you enjoyed!

Developer

Don’t forget to build platforms to reach the birds and use fertilizer to grow that Pumbo! 7.4 meters is a pretty big Pumbo, but you can definitely go bigger!

A simple concept done extremely well. I was a little frustrated with the controls, but otherwise great game!

Developer

Thanks! Yeah, the controls do take some getting used to, but we tried some different configurations and thought this one was the best of the ones we tested. It's definitely something to think about if we revisit this game!

Awesome game! Love the artstyle and the Idea.  The gameplay loop is realy satisfying, but the controls are a little but clunky.

Developer

Thanks! Yeah, the controls do feel a bit awkward at first, but unfortunately it was the best set of the ones we tried. It's definitely something we'll revisit if we keep working on this game!

If you continue working on that game and need some play test feedback I'm happy to help

Developer

Actually, we’d love to hear your thoughts about the controls! We iterated a few times but decided this was the best option. We figured a pick up/drop button, a context-sensitive interact button, and a create-platforms button all needed be their own buttons, and then that left the arrow keys for moving, jumping, and dropping through platforms.

Was there anything in particular you had trouble with, or was it just generally that there were a lot of buttons to keep straight?

I have to play the game again to give you that feedback. Played to many in the passt days to remember the exact controls. I currently have no access to a PC but when I'm back on Sunday I will give you the feedback :)

Hey I finally come to play the game again. I think for me the biggest point is the keybindings. Im just not used to play a game with 2 hands on keyboard and keys like Y,X,C are hard to reach. Maby think about using keys close to WASD like F, Q, E or R.
Also you could think about using the mouse. Clicking things like the birds and plants could feel satisfying.
Second thing is how much you have to press the buttons. The idea to pickup and drop the watering can each time feels kind of clumsy. Maby you could have a different button (or mouse) for using items and interaction (like scare birds) so you can hold on to the item.

I liked it! Good core mechanic, cute art, feels complete!

Sometimes platform placement was a little frustrating, might have preferred an option to click to place, although I do appreciate the minimal controls.

It was a little hard to figure out how composting worked. I also felt like watering was perhaps too weak at least without upgrades. It seems like it's almost never worth it to water except at the very beginning because after that you're too busy and compost works better / it won't last long enough to matter.

I didn't yet have time to play out how things feel in the end game.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for trying the game! I personally am terrible at platforming, so I understand your frustration at platform placement, but we also felt the midair placement added something to the gameplay.

The watering upgrades flavor text isn't lying, so I hope you play more to experience it ;P
