Sorry - GMTK Game Jam is for games made specifically for the jam. You have been working on this game since before the jam began: https://x.com/WaterMuseum_/status/1810454850502566134

Hey! This is actually a completely different game than that one. The name Human Garden was just a potential name for the other project that I didn’t end up using for it. No mechanics/code/ideas are being used from this other project of mine, only the human model/sleeping chamber model is shared.

That game is about controlling a squad of little men and fighting insects and such, this game is about moving little men around on comets with trees

Developer (1 edit) (+5)

here is some gameplay from that game (dated 6 months ago) so you can confirm that it’s a completely different thing

Okay - apologies. I've requalified the game.

Wow dude, this game got some awesome vibes.

I'm horrible at taking care of my humans, but it was vary relaxing to carry their bodies anyways hahahah

Submitted (1 edit)

wow bravo

humanity vibes,

really like it, controls are pretty

Awesome  control system! I like it. But i would be add ability to control camera rotation sensetive. Also cool gravity interaction between objects!

Submitted(+1)

I don't know why but this game made me rethink my life

Developer

it is because you are a little naked man

Submitted(+1)

I saved 9 beautiful humans, but felt a greater attachment to the many lifeless bodies I carried through space on an oxygen deprived rock.

Wonderful experience.

Guilt is a more demanding emotion than love

overall brilliant, water museum does it again, but the real crem de la crem for me is the nature ambience fading in/out based on ur proximity to the planets, could play around w that for hours

Developer

Haha thank you! I wanted to make it so the nature ambience also disappears when you remove the atmosphere but ran out of time :(

Hi, i would like to dismantle capitalism. where do i start

Submitted(+1)

really amazing work! love the style and how everything fed into a central theme. it really all comes together to form a great picture. wasn't seeing any eggs... but still gotta give it high marks despite that fairly large oversight

Submitted(+1)

I'm shocked

Developer

good or bad shocked??

I really enjoy this game. The camera is always placed in a right place and the frames so well designed!

Developer

Today I learnt that I'm a sadistic bastard and had the most fun smashing asteroids into people.

Developer

everyone else already knew this

Cool game. The aesthetics are so disturbing

Submitted (1 edit) (+5)

The sadness of seeing a new group of humans stand inertly, refusing any part in their own salvation and trusting only in an incompetent and uncaring higher power until an asteroid that I misjudged the distance of crashes into the planet and kills all of them is strangely profound. Extremely interesting game, even more so for being made in only 4 days. I feel compelled to destroy fossil fuel infrastructure

Developer

You have been indoctrinated

Submitted(+2)

Could not have hoped for better from you, invibing strongly right here, good job

This is a really great entry, both mechanically and aesthetically. It only took a few extinction level events and wiping out approximately 60% of humanity, but I was finally able to save one of the planets! The controls definitely take some getting used to (I wouldn't mind a float down button in addition to floating up), but that's a minor nitpick relative to everything this has going for it.  Great job!

Developer

Thank you so much! Yeah I knew the controls were a bit jank by the end, any other recs on how to tighten them up?

Also was it clear you can also put dead guys in the sleeping chamber? Extinction is okay and always apart of the process

Submitted(+1)

Maybe make them just a hair less floaty? Don't make them too snappy because I feel like it definitely works in the context of floating through space, but there were a few times when I was "stuck" on a planet, and it was a little difficult to build enough momentum to get up and around it. That being said, I'm also kind of an impatient person, so maybe take what I'm saying with a grain of salt.

Actually I didn't think to put them in the chamber! But they were super useful to bring back down to the remaining planets and show them what fate would befall them if they didn't cooperate

so bad at this game but the vibes are good so i like it
