Very nice animations of the slime moving around and being caught.

I liked the mazes and the music. I love slimes! Did you do everything by yourself? Great job!

Developer

Thank you! Yes everything minus the what's in the credit and the cover art is my work!

A nice cozy game. I could roam this dungeon eating bread all day!

Developer

I'm glad! I was worried the game might be too tedious

Had fun running from those pesky blue skulls o.o. If you plan on adding more features/continue the game, maybe a track of goo would be nice, as a way to know where you've already been. And congrats on your first game jam!

Thank you! a slime trail was an idea i messed with early on but it ended up being too much of a hassle for the time I had

This game feels reminiscent of pac-man, lol. It's fun! Would probably be good if the speed curve from small to large was less drastic, like make the smaller sizes slower and the larger size quicker. Then again, that may lessen the importance of the main mechanic, so maybe it is good it was more drastic. Well done, regardless!

Don't tell anyone, but the maze part of the game is pretty much made after the Pacman map!

As for the speed, yeah, i got that feedback, I was gonna change it last minute before submitting but thought I'd rather have something playable submitted at least. I will see it that the speed feels a little less drastic next update

Yessir, will not tell a soul. o7

and also, sick! If you are going to update the game, then you could also consider a mechanic where you spit out little blobs to lower your size. These blobs can slow down, damage, or knock back enemies, and can be recollected as later to rejoin your food supply.

At the early stages of development I considered making splitting halve your size and spawn a slime of equal size, but the mechanic of splitting to free yourself if you get stuck in a wall stayed.

was considering some kind of dash ability that you can use when you can't split, or at least making the slimes slightly more intelligent and follow you around. Also the slimes are intended to distract enemies somewhat (the knight in particular goes after them) but in function it doesn't seem to work that well.

and lastly, don't know if you caught it but the slime friends drop blobs if killed, which can be recollected for food.

did not, in fact, know you could do that. Good to know!
