I understand the idea behind this project, but I feel that the final implementation has strayed quite a bit from the game jam topic itself. I think the game itself is based on an interesting idea that is worth further work, but I would consider a slightly broader approach to what the player can ask about in order to obtain further elements of the story. Sometimes the game indicates that we are straying from the main threads, when we ask about something that seems important after all.
I am confused a bit on how to play it :D
As the others said, I don't think it fits to the theme. But I do understand you wanted to experiment an idea. I liked the idea to explore dialogs through key words. Those games are usually quite slow pace, as they required to read a lot of text. What I found to improve the game feel of youtrgame is to remove the drag and drop mechanic for the key words, and replace it by buttons. I allows a better interactivity (in my opinion)
Not really sure if it really fit the theme well, and also got a bit lost on the storytelling. The new ideas that you could make eventually passed the box, and I was unable to access them as they were behind the mind map. I thought the story was interesting though!
Thank you for the feedback! Yeah we know we stretched the theme, all in good fun in the name of science! Unfortunately, we didn't have enough time to work a lot on the UI/UX of the game and some bugs definitely seeped through.
Very interesting, however I was very unclear on how to create connections between concepts, clear them, or in general what the goal was. I enjoyed reading the dialogue and exploring the words. Dragging them all the way to the bottom left of the screen was tedious though, would have been nice to be able to just double click.
Thank you for the feedback! Yes, I think the game needs a lot more in the UI/UX department if it were to become a thing. We would absolutely have to iterate on how to make the goal of the game clearer since it's a major factor in getting players to engage with it!
Really cool concept. I am a sucker for story-based games
Very cool idea, love it
