Got the FPS bug, will try from a different PC, but the game could use some optimisation. Really waiting for a postjam version!
This was awesome! It took a bit of time to understand that I should mine the things that are on the way (even tho it's said at the beginning!), but once I understood that it started to get pretty fun!
I wish there was a way to defend your engine from getting hit besides just putting weapons around. Also, some kind of synergy between weapons positions would have been fun.
I really like the mining idea! It splits the player's attention from having to repair machines to go and earn enough gold to survive. And the fact that you actually have to click multiple times to mine a mineral pile means that you have to follow it with your mouse, so it's not as trivial and gets harder with the speed of the engine. A really clever way of making what could have been a very passive game into something very active.

I would like to point out a few bugs to anyone who's wanting to play;
I love the aesthetic of the game, really awesome style!
However I don't know if I did something wrong or missed an instruction but my train seemed to be far slower than the one in your gameplay video. Like I stay at 0.0km for at least 15 seconds (vs like 0.5s in your video), and I have all the time in the world to destroy every gem in the screen (vs your gameplay where the train goes so fast that you can't hit them all). And since the train is so slow the game never offers me to upgrade it (I die before that).
But I think the problem comes from me (I'm playing on a rather-slow laptop), so I must have a lot less FPS. Maybe the train acceleration isn't frame-independant?
But I adore the presentation and the pacing from your gameplay video seems really fun too! Great job!

I'm sorry that it seems the brakes were stuck on your train 😭I think you hit the nail, I didn't account for low fps so the train moves via the game delta time, which on a slow computer would make things, well, slow. Post-jam I will look into using something more reliable for major game events, thank you for testing on your laptop!
Probably the best visual presentation I have seen so far, and by far the best unreal engine game so far. Really good job!
