The game is hard but once you get use to it it becoms very fun olso all the things are hard to memoryse. If you get far enough it starts getin very lagy.

I love how each dice number has a different effect, it's a bit hard to remember what each one does but nothing that would affect the gameplay to much.

The shooting felt a bit hard to aim where you wanted to, but maybe that was just me being bad at shooting :)

Nice game though!

Good game.

The model of the ship was very beautiful!

Is there any goal other than scoring?

Good job.

You can try to clear out all the dices before more spawn

Very good game.
The art is very good although you did not make it yourself in the 48 hours.
The concept is very creative and the game is easy to learn and overall pretty fun.

I think the concept of dice with unique effects was interesting, especially that big value cubes generate smaller value cubes when destroyed, so I knew, when to expect the deadly 2 cubes, it wasn’t totally random. But I just didn’t see the effects of the 3, 4 and 5 cubes. I’m curious what they are supposed to do.

The controls were nice by the way, but it didn’t feel too good that I had no reason to release the fire button ever. Thus it became repetitive after a few minutes, but until then it was quite fun! Nice job

These are what the dice effects are. I also updated the page to show the effects

Dice Type Dice Effects
0 Normal Dice, will spawn a random dice below every 15 seconds. Will spawn 3 random dice below on death
1 Will evolve into one of the dices below after 10 seconds.
2 After 5 seconds it will fling itself and attack the player. (It’s death doesn’t spawn another dice)
3 Gains a charge every 15 seconds up to 3 charges. At 3 charges it will self destruct. When it dies it’ll spawn additional type 2 dice equal to the amount of charges
4 Flips a "coin" every 10 seconds. On "heads" it will summon a normal dice
5 If there are any of these on the board, they will prevent one of the lasers from working. Will self destruct after 5 seconds
6 Directly does 1 dmg to the player every 30 seconds after spawning

I was a bit hesitant to reveal them in the beginning as I wanted to make the effects unknown and seemingly random as I felt my game didn't feel as random as a dice. But yeah some of the effects of the dice aren't as obvious as others.

Yeah in hindsight the fire button is a bit pointless. I might change it into a toggle or have it auto fire if I update this game again.

Nice movement, smooth and responsive. Camera perspective works well, I can actually see where the red dice are flying. I find it a bit hard to see where I am aiming. Bigger shots and some effects when you hit would definitely help with that. Simple but fun, good job!

Developer

I was also concerned that it would've been difficult to see where the laser was actually going. I thought of adding a crosshair to maybe help with the aim but I thought it would've been weird since the lasers aren't all firing towards one point. I didn't think about bigger lasers though, that sounds like something fun to mess with. I did have visual effects for when a laser hits a dice but I think they kept spawning inside the dice themselves so the effects weren't that impactful.

I lagged the whole time playing it...

Developer(+1)

Yeah I was worried about that happening. The game instantiates so much vfx and gameobjects that it was understandable for the game to lag at points. I'll try using object pools next time to make it less resource intensive. But if you were lagging the whole time, then there must be some other areas in the game that needs to be optimized.

It's asteroids... but with DICE!
Will you survive?!

I liked the perspective of your game. and the movement felt nice. Maybe some kind of shooting sound effect or something like that would have made it even better. Still a great and fun entry :)

Developer(+1)

To be honest, sound effects were on my mind as something to do throughout the game jam but I kept pushing it off as something I can do last minute. Then the last minute came around and I didn't think I could code that part well enough in time. As well as needing to find a good sfx that wouldn't be too annoying to listen to constantly.
