(I am now in a rush to test as many games as possible to help, so please do not mind the cursory reviewing style.)

Game page: like the wording! XD ‘Using your amazing powers of revolution,’

You are talented 14-year-olds wordwise. :)

seeing the screen capture about the key printed on the cube: would you believe this was one of my ideas during the brainstorming for the game jam? XD

even a loading screen! lots of visual details

controls are QWERTY-only instead of layout-independent

sword and shield: ANOTHER idea I had during brainstorming! XD :)

beat the game; short, but as a prototype, excellent! Great ideas, great presentation, original. (By the way, I actually kept the ‘printing-on-the-cube’ idea in my own final submission!)

Really liked it; some sounds would have made it even better. Maybe also a way (such as UI display) to show the user the hidden faces, as it can be hard to mentally figure out (I had to count the tiles for the shield-sword level).

Thank you for the feedback and for playing our game! As for the sides you can't see: we had a lot of different ideas for that, from making little pictures floating next to the cube to making our entire game isometric  :) (Although I'm really starting to like the gui approach you had in your game), but it eventually boiled down to us not having a lot of time to incorporate this feature. I feel like your the first to have actually read the game page :) But anyway, we do plan on releasing lots more content now that the jam is over, so keep an eye out for updates.

Seems all too familiar!! ;)) Read so many people saying that — including me. X) Time management really is a big thing and should not be overlooked, I know I made some small mistakes that ended up costing their share.

I feel like your the first to have actually read the game page :)

Wow, why is that? :o I always read the game pages. There can be important information, while the creator(s) cannot do so in the game jam page (except if using a comment).
It would be ironic, as I was in a massive rush when I did! Although I am always the perfectionist (at the expense of time efficiency).

But anyway, we do plan on releasing lots more content now that the jam is over, so keep an eye out for updates.

Great! :) I will write that down. And maybe also subscribe, although I hope not to get overwhelmed by notifications and so on (I try to focus as much as possible).
Your game is very promising and creative, so I am interested. :)

The concept and gameplay were really cool and the puzzles are just the right difficulty. Fantastic work!

Developer

Thanks :)

The concept is fine, but it's sometimes hard to remember where is the item you want to use (like, where on the dice). I was looking forward to rolling with a couple of different items on multiple sides but was surprised that there were only so few levels ;)

Yes, the plan for our game was going to have many more levels with enemies, traps and more, all of which were going to ramp up the difficulty with multiple items and we were going to release an informative tutorial, too. Sadly, we only had a day to work on this due to our schedule and being relatively new to programming, we had trouble getting all those features in on time. We are, however continuing this project after the jam to release those features. Thanks for the feedback, and stay tuned after the jam to see the game develop :)

(also, if you have ideas on how to make it a little easier to remember where the items are stored on your dice, I would love to hear them :)

All dices can be represented by a flat grid, so that could be displayed somewhere on the side. However a more elegant solution might be to display it on the playing grid (with like 50% opacity), so that the player knows, which side will be "rolled into" when moving up/down/left/right. Probably there's a couple more ideas, that I cannot think of right now ;)

Really interesting. I like how the game only shows you one face of the cube at a time. Unlike some other turn based dice games I've played, this one actually got me to try to remember and think about the orientation of the dice rather than forcing me to just guess what the answer is by mashing WASD.

I think the concept of replacing different sides of the dice with items you pick up is really interesting. It's like the dice is the inventory.

all in all, great stuff although I only wish there were more levels (which is probably the best criticism a game developer can get).

Developer

Yes, we were going to release quite a few more levels with more concepts like a sword and multiple items on the dice at once, but sadly we couldn't get them in time. We plan on releasing them soon, though. Thanks for the feedback :)

Cool idea! I've seen a few different games do a similar puzzle game idea of rotating the die through block puzzles, but this is the first I've played that did something more than just "get to the goal with the right number showing". You could definitely do some cool puzzles where the player has to get  multiple items on specific faces to progress.

Yes! Thats exactly what we are working towards - we are planning on adding enemies and swords and lots more puzzles. Sadly, we didn't have enough time to do that though. We should be able to release them soon hopefully. Thanks for playing!

Cute game! I loved the gameplay feel and the dotted key face on the die. I wish there was an interactive tutorial because the intro is text heavy. But once you get the hang of it, the puzzles are fun and challenging. Cheers :)

Thanks for taking the time to get the hang of our game!

Yes, I do agree with you, a tutorial would have been superior to a text block :)
