How does your game fit the theme?
A Rubik's Cube is kind of a die (at least in German it's the same word). Also, there's a species of cottontail rabbits called Dice's cottontail.

This rabbit is among the cutest things I have ever laid eyes on.

Love the take on the theme, and the game is really good! The puzzles are challenging but not impossible. The gameplay just generally feels pretty good, I like the balance of switching between shifting around the cube and moving the bunny to solve the puzzles. And of course its very cute, and the music really helps convey the charming nature of the game. Overall very well done!

(Also bonus marks that the how-to-play section is not only good at explaining the game, which is always very important, but it's also cute in and of itself)

Thank you so much! :D

One of my favorites in the jam so far. I was greatly aided by my ability to solve 2/3rds of a rubik's cube, but I still found the puzzles difficult in an appropriate way. The rabbit is adorable as well. Great job!

Thank you! And glad to hear I'm not the only person who could never be bothered to learn the algorithms for the last layer :D

Loved the idea of dice in german! At first I thought it wasn't adhering to the theme, but then I read the description. Very cute game, very interesting mechanic. Very good game, great job!

What an interesting idea! Loved the cute graphics and music!

Love the concept, it's got a great aesthetic and overall I think it's great, it's just too hard for me! I can solve a 2x2 but not a 3x3. Maybe 2x2 in the earlier levels could be good?

Great job overall though!

Developer

Thanks you! I actually like that suggestion quite a lot, though it means I would have to touch my Rubik's cube code, which sounds, uh, daunting.

A really cool concept for a game! Pretty fun at the beginning, but after a few levels there was a very big difficulty spike that made it feel like you were beating a level in an unintentional way, if at all. I didn't manage to beat the game, unfortunately. I think if the concept was simplified to a 2D plane, such as with a sliding puzzle, it would be very fun!

Hey, thanks for the feedback! Yeah, apparently I once again underestimated the difficulty of the puzzles by quite a bit, my bad!

We did want to incorperate the Rubik's cube as it was one of the first things that came to our mind when we heard the theme and because it was something neither of us had ever seen before in a game, but I think there are also somewhat similar games that stick to the 2D plane if that's your cup of tea. Not entirely sure what's the best way to find them, though.

Love the visuals and idea! Found the game a bit difficult though

Adorable rabbit, it's not easy to manipulate at first but the take on the theme is amazing, really unique idea! A slower difficulty curve could be nice and i'm not really sure seeing many olors actually helps, I wonder if only white and grey would not make things more lisible?

Thank you very much! I do sort of have a reputation of making difficulty curves that are way too steep, but this time, we were pretty sure we got it right. Welp, apparently not.

I agree that the rotation controls are a bit janky, but it was the best we could come up with in the short time frame. One thing I'd definitely like to add post jam would be an options screen where you could at least set the mouse sensitivity, though I'm not sure how much it would help.

You might be right about the color scheme, but I do like the differently colored faces for purely aesthetic reasons. Maybe also something that could be customized in an options screen.

Cute concept.  Far too difficult and frustrating.  Didn't really fit the theme of the contest.

Developer

Hey, thanks for your feedback! I'm sorry to hear you found the game too frustrating; we knew the concept could lead to some very complicated puzzles, so we tried to keep most of the puzzles pretty simple (requiring at most 5 rotations if I'm not mistaken) and have a relatively flat difficulty curve. Did you struggle with any specific mechanics or levels or was it the entire concept?

I agree this is probably one of the more liberal interpretations of the theme. It's a lot more obvious when "dice" and "cube" are the same thing in your head.
