Cool idea, rolling the die to decide which spaces are safe. I think controls could be more responsive, and one hit kills are frustrating. I also wonder if there could be some risk/reward element to grabbing dice, instead of them just outright being a negative thing that makes the game harder. Also the pink background on the page fried my retinas.

Really unique concept, The gameplay is really nice and simple. great entry overall.

Nice concept, although can feel a little unfair if there is a line of spikes and no way to get past.

A few tweaks and some better UX and this would be a great endless runner!

Cool concept, you may add some feedbacks and game juice to make it feel more responsive.

Fun little runner and concept, took me a few tries to realize the boxes caused rolls and should be avoided

Great game! I like the way obstacles are randomized and added to the board. I noticed, though, that it's a bit unintuitive that the dice are an obstacle, not a power-up. Also, I wasn't able to get a higher score than 80. The game might be more addicting with a few power-ups to keep you playing for longer (eg. +5 points, boost to left-right speed, etc.). You could also try making the board six tiles wide, which might make more sense for a game where your life is in the hands (... or sides???) of a six-sided dice.

The game sticks to one theme well, good job on that. The music and sound effects in this game are also great. I might enjoy the game more if the music stopped when you lost, then started back up at the beginning each time you tried again. That might make it more satisfying to get farther in the level.

Good job! I'm glad I got to play this game.

Thanks for enjoying the game! I think all the criticisms and suggestions you made are fair, too. I did consider making the board wider but just never got around to putting it in. Maybe I'll make an improved version after the voting for the jam is over.

Love the artstyle/music! Reminds me of old DOS games. I didn't see much reason to pick up the reroll pickup (unless absolutely necessary) as more often than not it would roll to a number directly in front of me and kill me. Perhaps giving a bit of invincibility or an extra life after picking it up would give it more incentive.

Thanks! I guess it's unintuitive cause they look like powerups but I meant for the dice rerolls to be obstacles since they put down more spikes in front of you

It took me a few rounds to realize that the dice were bad. A bit more explanation of that might help. Maybe try adding a spike texture behind the dice texture?

I'm always a fan of being trapped in abstract worlds of neon colors on top of darkness, toyed with by some non-human entity for no reason other than their own pleasure. Also I like the cute MS-Paint-core  aesthetic! I wasn't able to encounter the green worm like creature shown in the last screenshot though, which I was looking forward to. Is that a portrait of the protagonist?

Developer

I'm glad you liked it!

That is indeed a portrait of the protagonist. It's possible to encounter it in game but it's just a little easter egg
