How does your game fit the theme?
Every action the player can take is based on a roll of the dice! The game rolls the player four dice every turn, and the player must use these to setup their attack! Each roll contributes in a different way. Even the player's character options are based on a roll, and so are the enemies!

This is a really cool way to mitigate the randomness and put control back into the player's hands with a rolling mechanic. I liked it!

Developer

Thank you! that was actually something I really liked about the idea, giving the player some control of the rng. I knew if it was pure randomness there wouldn't really bea  game, and the system ended up working itself out from there! It's fun trying to strategize with the given options.

I like the game! Add more sexy characters next time. I thought the way that the moves were set out added individuality to each champion while limiting the chance of bad rolls and encouraging corners to be cut (which is good I think!)

Really creative concept! The execution was pretty nice too. Though admittedly, on the intro screen I wasted some time because I didn’t realize it was only part of the tutorial and putting the dice there didn’t do anything :)

Nice job!

Developer

Thank you! yeah,  I completely get that. I actually learned today you can move those dice in the tutorial, I forgot to disable the scripts! whoops! But I think with more time, this game would benefit more form a step-by-step tutorial that walks you through a turn.

Cool game :) Assigning dice rolls to different aspects of an attack was pretty interesting!

Developer

Thank you! That idea came to me early and I was very excited to explore it! I like providing the player with some amount of control, and I think it makes for a fun twist on the traditional format!

The enemy/character art is really nice. Also it's a fun core of a game! It might be a nice addition strategy-wise to think up some additional ways low dice rolls can be put to use.

Developer

That's a good point! I knew early on that I want to try and expand this idea, so that would be a good way to add some more depth to the game!

pretty cool little game! i was a bit confused on the instructions but overall a nice experience

Thank you! Yeah, I spent a lot of time trying to think of how to explain the mechanics in a concise way, and came to the best result I could, but think it's still a little lacking. It's hard to explain without going into a lot of detail. A tutorial level that runs you through the choices in real time would probably be the optimal solution, honestly.

Nice game, cool concept. An option to turn off the music would have been nice...

Pretty simple, but cool idea. Your Voice effects were super awesome. Idk but the enemy killed me everytime. Maybe a little bit unbalanced. Nice Submission

Breakfast is horrifying! Also, give that guy who recorded those voice lines a raise ;)

The fruits are just so damn adorable! Also a good take on the combat system with the theme, nicely done!

Love me some classic midi rock music, haha! Kicked some butt with the dragon character but rolled a lot of 1s. Nice work!

Developer

Very glad you enjoyed! The dragon is definitely one of the stronger creatures! And can't go wrong with the MIDI rock, definitely a fun vibe. And makes it easier when I only have to record guitars and can program the rest!

Very interesting mechanics and great attack descriptions!
