How does your game fit the theme?
We took the luck based game of Go Fish and gave the player the ability to actually fish for the fish that they want. Players will have to risk going for more rare fish for higher points.

Unique take on the theme and perfect presentation! Definitely felt like a classic arcade game with seafaring/dwelling vibes haha. I love the attention to detail with the speeding up and down of the hook and some good audio feedback. I would love to see the visuals pop a bit more, and maybe some more focus on the opponent's moves/tactics. Hope the team keeps working on this game!

I would appreciate if your team would check out my submission and provide any feedback you have, I am trying to gauge interest to see if I should continue further development too!

This was a pretty interesting take for the theme. Was pretty fun, but constantly fishing does get a bit tiring and annoying at times. Would be nice if the fishing was a bit faster than it was (I know of speeding up and slowing the hook down).

Overall this was pretty fun! Would seem interesting if you could play with multiple people. But that's a whole thing of itself. Great Job!

Developer

yea we tested a few different base hook speeds. I think it was a bit difficult to have it be a challenge to avoid fish you dont want, but also have it not super tedious. Given a bit more time we probably could have found a better balance. We definitely wanted to refine the fishing by adding more fish/object types and maybe some more options when controlling the hook, but were coming up against time constaints.

Multiplayer would have been awesome. Local multiplayer probably wouldn't have been too hard to add actually, but once again we just ran out of time and energy.

Thanks for playing!

Cozy.

Art and music is very nice and the different interactions that each fish had with the hook was a very nice touch :)

I agree, I think our artist, sound and music guys did a really wonderful job. Thanks for playing!

Very cute game ^_^  I feel like the rarer fish should maybe be worth more points.  Loved the art so much!

Developer

It's quite an interesting take. I loved how ever fish had its own different interaction with the player's hook.

This is a clever twist for sure. Do the different fish swim in unique patterns or speeds? It would be neat if they did. Nice work!

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

The gold fish darts back and forth. The others all have the same basic pattern. The rainbow fishes run away from the hook and the green ones run at it when in range. Thanks for playing!
