Excellent! Thanks for playing :)

Thanks for playing!

Thanks for playing!! Glad you got to experience some joy today :)

It's fun! But the big problem I feel is the click to free a blob, only because you are also moving to avoid enemies as well, so you have two moving targets and two inputs to control. It's a steep learning curve. I did enjoy playing and love the idea!

It crashed for me on MacOS Apple M2 Max

This game is so great, it has all the features and polish that a good game jam game has, and I like how it doesn't try to do multiple mini games on purpose. The developers really knew what they wanted to build!

Thanks for playing. What do you mean? We definitely polished it a bunch and almost certainly didn't run out of time, and absolutely didn't make it rough on purpose.

Thanks for playing, you were so close! Maybe we should make another game just for you :)

Or was it?

Thank you so much for this high praise! I tried my best to explain the rules, so that really means a lot :)

I super agree, there are definitely some easy ways to improve the opponent AI, and I was also thinking to make it two-player for more fun! Do you think it would be fun to play with a friend?

Thank you so much! I am glad you enjoyed it, and very flattered that you found it close to complete!!

Wow thank you so much!!

Haha thank you!! That's what I was going for

Thank you so much for playing and glad you enjoyed it :)

Definitely need to balance that out a bit more, appreciate your feedback!

Thank you so much for playing and glad you enjoyed it :)

I tried to make a tradeoff between risk taking strategies and the randomness using the level design, but definitely need to balance that out a bit more especially with enemy behavior. Appreciate your feedback!

Thank you so much for playing and glad you enjoyed it :)

Yeah my music manager did not want to work with me .. struggled for 45 minutes and then gave up in order to submit haha. Definitely need to also balance out the enemy behavior a bit. Appreciate your feedback!

Thanks so much for playing, glad you enjoyed it! Did you make it to the exit?

Thank you so much for the kind words and I am glad you enjoyed playing! The enemy behavior definitely needs some work and I am strongly considering adding in a move preview (either roll or direction) for them. Appreciate your feedback!!

Great idea and execution. I absolutely love the luck meter!! I like how it's still abstract enough to perceive some randomness, and yet give the player some control over the outcome. Superb mechanic :)

Movement felt great but I would definitely add some kind of dodging/dashing control if it makes sense.

This had some juice, but I think with a little more visual feedback and effects it could be really juicy and even more enjoyable to play. Good luck!

Interesting concept and I like that you tried something original! I liked the writing, characters and storyline(s). However, for this to feel more engaging, I think using a player action to roll the dice or having some other mechanic or even more visual feedback with what's changing with the story would be nice.

Great effort, good luck!

Cool take on the theme. I like the concept but the game is a little too difficult. I think what might be interesting is instead of avoiding ghosts with the cursor, is to maybe have something else that you can drag around that represents your lifeforce and try making sure ghosts don't hit that! That way you can more freely chuck the dice around. Great entry and good luck!

Cool take on the theme, I love the idea of making orders of dice! I like the look and feel of the game, though I did find it a little overwhelming (especially as you get more cards on the screen). More visual feedback and some options to organize things a little better would be great.

One suggestion for the UI would be to make it easier to handle what to forge. Since the cards stick together, separating them out to get the right number is tricky.

Overall really great effort and good luck!

Fortune telling was an interesting take on the theme. I've seen a few of them this jam but yours was pretty unique with the mechanics. I like the concept, but I was finding it hard to follow the gameplay initially, I think more visual feedback would be good. Having everything on the screen at once is nice since it is controlled by the mouse, but I would think about what is actually necessary for the player. Other than this, it's a great effort for the jam, good luck!

The presentation on this game is incredible, you are very talented! And the sound effects were on point!!

I enjoyed playing though I will say the difficulty curve was quite steep. I also ran into a few bugs I believe, the most noticeable being that I died right as I beat a level and so the level screen showed up at the same time my XP reset.

My best was 73 XP but I know I can do better! Fantastic entry, following for updates :)

Really fun! I found the game challenging and surprising in the best way possible! Great presentation, you definitely nailed it on the look and feel of the game. Visual and sounds effects were on point.

I don't think the fights were unfair necessarily, but they could be a little more forgiving with the amount of MP/HP recovered. Another opportunity would be the attack meter/hitbox thing .. I think if the most damage was in the middle as opposed to the end, it would be nicer for the player to not miss so easily.

One other critique would be to allow the player to roll the die if they want, so that way they don't have to wait. Another option would be to tie it to the number of paces taken as opposed to a strict time, so that way the player can also be idle.

Great submission overall, and keep it up! Props to the team :)

Fantastic submission! I am really impressed with the smooth game mechanics and how polished the game feels. The concept is easy to understand and very playable. I thought the difficulty curve was great, nice job on balancing.

I ran into just one bug! But it was awesome haha, I found that if you get the Bomb card, since it take 0 energy to use I can just spam it until all enemies are dead haha. I would probably make it cost some energy or give it a limit like the Wait card.

All in all, really awesome game and I hope you continue development :)

Wow this game is really cool! Great take on the theme and very original. Absolutely love the presentation and the sound effects were especially nice. Very impressive to have done this in 48 hours :)

I did have a few notes:

  • I would suggest iterating on the movement/launching mechanics, I think it would be so worth it to do an angry birds style launcher with a preview of the first bounce.
  • I think a bounce counter while bouncing would be a nice touch.
  • Finally, I think the game is a bit too punishing, I was not expecting to have to completely restart. Can I suggest maybe a limited retry or perhaps a rougelite approach where you restart but maybe with a starting level modifier.

Can't wait to see how this evolves!

Nice work on this submission, I managed to survive for just under 3 minutes! The movement felt good and snappy! I would say adding some variability and juice to the game would make it that much better. I also agree that some of the enemies seem overpowered so maybe dialing them back a little bit would be good. Overall, love the concept and nice job making an enjoyable game for the jam :)

Cool concept, definitely agree with others that more visual feedback was needed, but could become something great! Nice effort!

Fun and simple! Would love to see some other mechanics or upgrades to throw the dice even further!

Amazing effort for a 48 hour jam, felt very polished. I agree with other reviewers about difficulty, I also found that if enemies just keep defending the battles take a very long time. Very fun though, and hope you continue development!

Really neat idea, would love to see it taken further!! I actually think the wall climb could be interesting if it was limited by the level design or other mechanics, especially in cases of otherwise certain death.

Thank you for playing, glad you liked it! Totally agree, would need to balance the difficulty out. What do you think about a roll or direction preview for enemies?

Getting squished is the worst! Fun game, I would just suggest a gentler difficulty curve to help make the game more inviting. Other than that, I think this is a great submission and can't wait to see how it evolves!

Thanks for playing and glad you enjoyed it! Were you able to make it to the exit? I appreciate all your feedback.

Thank you for your feedback and for playing my game :)

I definitely agree, the balance between player capability and the random enemy behavior is off, what do you think about showing an enemy roll preview and/or direction preview?

Thanks so much for playing and I'm glad you enjoyed it. Did you make it to the end?

Yeah the enemies I totally underestimated how punishing their behavior was. Definitely want to adjust the behavior and maybe add a few variants on future levels.

Definitely no real serious logic behind the control scheme. I think it can definitely be better, thank you for that feedback!

Thank you so much for playing! Glad you enjoyed it :) Did you make it to the end?

Yes I totally agree, would you prefer a direction preview or a roll preview without direction?

Ah no problem! Ok cool I will definitely check those out, thank you!

Oh gosh, I have been having trouble with my Windows setup so I don't know if I will be able to, but I will try!
