Pretty cool! I wish the roll of the die had a larger effect on the game, but I haven't seen another game where the die plays into the time. Nice work.

Developer

Thank you! I had an idea to have two dice. One for how much time and one for enemy variants. But I only ended up having enough time to do the time dice.

That could be cool! Yeah, 48hrs isn't much

I only had to survive for a minute, been very luck this Jam with my dice rolls so far haha. I enjoyed it, controlled well during my time and I like that you took the time for an introduction. Would've appreciated some tunes as I was blasting though. Overall nice job!

Actually like the idea of a main objective being under the mercy of a random roll. That said, I do wish there were more things that happened in-game that would change the flow of the game. Some easy examples you could explore could be having more enemies spawn as the timer drags on, enemy variants, and pickups that boost player.

Also, you should generally be careful about requiring players to repeatedly click mouse buttons. Not a lot of people have strong fingers and repeatedly clicking in a short period of time can be painful for them.

Overall, considering this is your first jam and you have a working game, congratulations are in order! Keep up the good work.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! I will try to make it that it continuously shoots when you hold the mouse button for other similar projects. Also  when you have half your time left more enemies spawn. I forgot to test if my code for that actually worked though, maybe it wasn't a noticeable enough increment in enemies.

It's simple but it works well and the controls are good.

It could be interesting to add some feedback when you kill enemies like particles or screenshake. Some musics could be nice too.

Congratulation for your first game jam !

Developer

Thank you! I tried adding a sound effect when you kill an enemy but it didn't work. And i was too low on time to make music.

The enemies weren't that good at moving left to right, so I was able to stand in the center and not get hit. I think that if you roll a low number, the round should be harder. Good job on the art!

Developer

The enemies are supposed to move better from left and right but i didn't have enough time to fix it. Thanks for the feedback!

I was pretty lucky and I had to survive only one minute. The game is good, but little bit of more polish would be great :).

Developer

I ran out of time while adding music and more sfx. I also have to admit I should have spend more time on the pixel art.

It is kinda similar to our entry....but your one is lacking music and juice....however idea to roll the dice and decide time the player would survive was good...also controls were very great

check out our game as well....!!

Developer

I was going to add music and more sfx when enemies died but i was running out of time and this is my first time uploading a game to itch so i had to figure out how to do that before time ran out. Thanks for the feedback!
