That's a very hard game but it has got a lot of flavor. Really nice concept and art! It's fun for a while. One thing you might want to try to improve is having more packed restaurant so there would be more action and maybe add a slower difficulty progression with careful level-design. But for a jam a very nice job!

Thanks for coming to my stream! Here's a recording in case you'd like to refer to it

Developer

Thanks for playing our game on stream! Thanks for all the feedback. I'll have that in mind next time I'm working on a new game!

Oh and I was just able to watch the video now. The music original, made by me. It wasn't made in the game jam time period though so I thought it's a better idea to say "No" to that part that asks if the music is pre-existing or not. Again, thanks for all the feedback. :)

Oh, that's fair! Good stuff! And you're welcome. Feel free to reach out to me if you want feedback on a post-jam version or your new projects :)

The game was mostly fun, the game loop is well designed. I really wish I could've beaten it, but there was a bug that made it so the game paused every time I tried the first jump (but only after getting vegetables). Since it's supposed to be a rage game I can't say that making the player do a hard double jump as the first jump is a bad idea. I probably could get used to it if the game didn't pause while I was trying to jump, removing all my momentum. And of course the jump can't be completed without momentum either. But still, every part of the game after the first jump was great, just as fun as it looked on the stream. I loved the music, the story, the physics, and the art. I even noticed how you gave the player jump particles. I liked the effect on the main menu background too! Great game!

Thanks for playing. It keeps pausing the game everytime you try to jump is because you use Space to jump. Unity's default settings somehow allows you to click the button you hover over when you press Space for some reason. It was definitely not intended. I only found about it after the game jam ended so it was too late to patch it. It's clearly pointed out in the instructions that you should use W to jump but I can understand that it's just muscle memory for some people to jump with Space. I wish I didn't add Space to the input list for jumping for accessibility in the first place. But yeah, thank you for the feedback. I hope you can give our game another try with knowing how to avoid that one silly bug...

Oh wow, I didn't realize. Actually I guess it's really useful you let me know that, so whenever I make a game that uses the space bar I can avoid it now. I'll raise my rating, since it was technically my fault for never trying the up key. Thanks for letting me know!

No problem! Thank you for kindness and considering it.

The serving part of the game is perfect, the physics, the player movement, the friction, everything feels just right. I had a lot of fun serving food for the elephant, now the platforming part is very hard, way harder than delivering food. Was fun to serve the diced vegetables to the hungry elephant thought <3

Developer

Thanks for playing! Yeah, the platforming is kinda hard and takes a bit time to get used to. Thanks for the feedback. It means so much. Glad you liked it. :^)

I really like the idea! It's a good interpretation of the theme, and makes it very unique! The physics of the objects is really fun to play with. Nice work!

Developer

Thanks for playing it on your stream and giving constructive feedback. It means a lot to us. Glad you liked it.

I liked the idea. I'd like to be able to move my tray a bit faster though. And I'm not really sure whether I'd say that this fits the jam very well, with the veggies being squares. :D

It was very difficult with the controls and physics, but I think that was kind of the point :D

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing! The conceptual reason for you not being able to move your tray really fast is because it's heavy and hard to balance for the monkey. There are also some technical reasons but mainly it made more sense because a giant metal tray is supposed to be heavy.

It fits to the theme because you're carrying "diced" vegetables. x) We thought everyone will go with the classic dice interpretation so we wanted to do something more unique with the theme.

Also yes, the point was to have kind of difficult and slippery controls because it's meant to be a rage game where you try to carry diced vegetables but they keep "rolling" and falling from your tray. :)

Thanks for the feedback. It means a lot to us.

yeah, I can get behind the will of doing something different than everyone else, we ended up being quite unique in our concept, too. But moreso by accident than intetionally choosing this.

And yes, a rage game it is!

I really like the concept, but the movement physics aren't the best, and the vegetables are too slippery. The art and audio were okay.

Developer

Thanks for playing. Yeah, the movement is not the best as you said. The vegetables are meant to be hard to carry so I thought it would make sense to have them kinda slippery. Thanks for the feedback. It means a lot.
