Cool idea very nice execution. I like that the 2d charachter is drawn on the cube instead of just being slaped on it, I like the fact that you can only collect the gold that is on the side being endangered by squashment. I feel like adding increasing difficulty would make this game a lot better tho as currently once you master the idea its kinda too easy. Anyway good job really nice submission.

thank you for your feedback. There is an increasing difficulty currently, the time between the cube rolling is getting ever shorter. It progresses a little slow though, so you only really notice it if you play for about two to three minutes.

But I agree, making it even harder over time is something we should definitely look into.

charming, would love to see it with some more polish!

Developer(+1)

thank you. we are thinking about how we could make this into a polished thing afterwards.

I really love the attention to detail with the mechanics. Coins only being collectable when they're on the side of the cube, the extra second or so you have to escape the side that's about to be squished, etc.. The only main thing I'd tweak is making the player a smidge more responsive - increasing the acceleration a touch to make it less slide-y.

Cool game!

Developer

Yes, thank you for noticing and thank you for the feedback!

We also wanted to give you a bigger coin stash on the side that's about to be squished, but didn't get it in in time.

Interesting idea. The camera made me question gravity but that should be easily fixable 😄

Developer(+1)

yeah, we thought so too, until we spent half of our total dev time wrestling with the camera... :D

I don't know what's going on here. But dice-worlds please each time!)

This is some fun perspective stuff, having camera rotate with the cube like that. Great work!

Developer

thank you, glad you enjoyed it!

I liked the implementation of the theme, the camera sometimes behaves very sloppy.

I think the game itself is very calming, just needs some music.

Developer(+1)

I agree, the camera was our main point of pain during development. We probably could've spent the entire 48 hours fiddling with it and it still wouldn't have been right. This was deemed "good enough for a gamejam" :D

Glad you liked it! :)

Ok, this was a fun twist! Very creative concept, and honestly I like the simplicity.

Submitted(+1)

lacks a little juice and animations but other than that pretty fun game

Developer

yeah, the limitations of a gamejam, amirite? xD Unfortunately the camera took a lot of time to get good enough.

Submitted(+1)

I got to score 32! I would have wanted some background music but otherwise good job.

Cool idea, camera some times stuck but i like`d the concept.

Developer

I unfortunately agree with the camera. We spent way too much time on the camera already though, so at some point we had to call it "good enough" and actually implement some of the gameplay instead. :D But that's a GameJam for you.

A really cool idea and perspective. Very little in the way of sound, sadly.
