This is really nice. So well executed. I love the music, I love the feel of the jump. Your choice of sprite really promotes a feel of accuracy. This is a great game well done
Thank you so much! Your entry is so good btw!
i can imagine that you put a bunch of effort into finetuning the jump for this game. feels fluid and predictable. very cool. the music and the gameplay go hand in hand here.
thank you!
Very simple but enjoyable concept and as others have said, with a bit more visual and sound effects it would be even better.
I also love Hot Cuddleccino's idea of encouraging the player to not jump on the same platform twice. If you keep working on this after the jam you should do something like that in my opinion.
Good job!
Thanks!
A very simple core gameplay loop, but it works well :) The easiest ideas are often also the easiest to screw up, but I feel you dodged that bullet. The speed, the snappy controls, the spacing of checkpoints, it’s all nicely balanced.
As others stated, with more polish and content, it could turn into something great. And the soundtrack does make it feel almost like a rhythm game.
Also, congratulations on your first jam entry!
thank you!
Those one block platforms are dastardly! But I made it through. Was good fun. Good work.
Congrats! Thank you!
Ok, that was fun! I have to admit that I’m not sure about what is “less is more” here, apart from the fact that it is a quite minimalistic mechanic that causes a ton of fun frustration ^^
Nevertheless, this is well executed, the controls feel snappy (VERY important in a game that requires that much precision), the music matched the rhythm of the jumps nicely, allowing me to find a flow quite easily, and whatever you did with the camera there works great 👍
I could see myself playing this way too long 😅
thanks! I'm an inexperienced programmer so I took the less is more theme as a blessing and ran with it in terms of visuals, scope, and controls.
Wow, that was hard trying to land on the tiny tiny ones 😭 But! I loved the simple aesthetic of your game and the music in the background was fun and carried the game well! I think maybe a sound effect for the impact of landing each time would help the game feel less 2D however. Overall though, I think you did a great job making a solid game experience and a cool background song! Great job :)
thank you =]
Nice and clean well done. Hard but the checkpoints were basically perfectly spaced out.
Mechanically the horizontal movement cancelling as soon as I let the key go caused me to miss so many jumps lol

First of all congrats for the first jam entry! The game plays great. Add some juice and it will play really well! I managed to win even tho it is quite hard. I love the work with the camera, mainly when resetting after death… and I died almost 30 times. The visuals were also nicely clean. It has a feel of a rhythm game. I got some ideas while playing, I don’t know if you want to hear them, but here they are anyway: A combo counter that would increment if you step on a new platform and reset when you step on the already stepped on platform (that would have to be some visual clues for that). This could add replayability as it would be extremely hard (but rewarding) to jump without any pause.
thank you. I like the combo idea!
I appreciate the commitment to the concept, even if I am terrible at it. I couldn't tell if the music synced to the death cycle or not because I was entranced, but that a bounce noise, and some squash and stretch might make this really good.
thank you! I agree with you. I still have a lot to learn =]
