Game Description
Heartlink is a game prototype for Godot Wild Jam #21. This is a game about people and connections and the urge to be relevant. Find the lanterns of those who is important to you and connect to them. Avoid evil thoughts and external turbulence in a form of monsters. This is not a finished game, but hopefully you'll find it enjoyable. Have fun :) Code by Wyrmling, Art by Nuketurne, Music & sound by Syskrank

What a beautiful game! I loved the starting screen, and your sprites are just amazing! The sounds were great too, and was a good atmosphere for this kind of game.
Points for improvement would be equalizing the sounds, the lantern activation sound is just too loud compared to the other sounds. The dog is also too extreme in its difficulty setup, where it can hardly chase you, but once it bites you once, you're stun-locked and its game over. Also, I think for this game the collision of the player should mainly apply to her feet. It doesn't feel right that her head collides with the walls when it barely connected.
Overall a good game, can't wait to see what you do with it!
Nice idea! I have not much to add to another commenters, but I think it could be expanded to at least a nice mini-game
Absolutely fantastic artstyle and ambient, but I couldn’t help but feel that the game is not very fun. The core idea is fine, but the ways things cut from one thing to the other and the interactions between the player and the evil dogs left some to be desired.
This has potential though. Very interesting concepts.
Thx a lot ) That's true - user experience is quite limited at the moment. We'll change this.
To be absolutely honest the game-play wasn't very interesting, but the art, the music and the ambient sounds were really good!
Thx :) Honest review - the best. We will put all efforts to make it more diverse, to implement ideas into UX.
Absolutely love this art style. I'd love to see the end result if you decide to build a full game in this style!
Thx :) We all agreed here that we will continue to work on it. There were a lot of things that were cut from current build and much more left not implemented, like animations, characters, gameplay mechanics, levels, UI and etc.
The art is really beautiful. The game is not fully finished, and there are some improvements in the collision and z-index of the objects. And the "death loop" when hit by a monster!
Yep, I also inspired by work of our artist :) And that's true - it's more a prototype, so many things from original plan left not implemented. Many things are fixable quite easily - but probably I shouldn't update submitted builds. We will work on it after the jam :)
Very nice art, but as Geminimax said, some tearing in the tilemap. There's also some issues with collision (the walls have collision on their entire tile, but on the bottom there isn't much black, so it looks weird) and also with the statue (go under it and up against it). There's one final problem: if you get hit, you're in a death loop immediately, meaning you're dead. As I said, very nice art, and a pretty good game for a first-timer
Thx for review :) Tearing already fixed, but I will not update the build now. I'm just hope that it's running as it is on all platforms )
Regarding collisions - yep, they were made nearly in last minutes before deadline :D Will be fixed in first order.
And dog... yes, it's biting quite hard, for sure one of the top priority for fixing ) Though - it shouldn't be too easy. But you can run from it even now, and - it's hard - but you can run even from its bite :)
Well it ran just fine on my mac, so no sweat there. It had some really nice art!
Very beautiful graphics. The is some tearing in the tilemap though, it would look even better without it.
Nice game. Love the art!
Wow, thanks
