Great idea. Cruising around and shooting bread felt really good.

I don't know if its a bug but i could fullfill my orders at houses even if their demand was already fullfilled, also I  had -1 left breadorders at one point 😅

The music was really good and fitted the game perfectly!

Very good entry!

Pretty fun game, I like it :) Bike movement seemed a bit awkward at first, but it then also became very fun. Music is also pretty good.

I finished all the levels, it was very fun to play, the controls feels good, the art and music are a bit simple but still enjoyables. I like the fact that the ghosts don't kill you, they just follow you and try to scares you. I would make the bread range a bit longer, but it is still a very enjoyable game.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! Glad to hear you got to the end :D

Yeah I managed to finish it! After the first level (which I found kind of hard) I though I was never going to finish it, but I got used to the art of bread delivery, and finished the last level. Now were is my free bread?

Fun game and concept, I enjoyed it. And it matches all themes! :)

I had a little trouble with the controls, especially at first. Still had some trouble doing quick precise turns even near the end. But the wobbly front-wheel effect was really cool, so it was worth the trouble. It was also hard to guess the range at which the bread can be thrown, you added a red line for the direction (that was good!), you could have maybe clipped the line to the max distance, so if you point to far and you see only a short segment you understand that you can’t be too far away from the mail boxes?

It was also a little hard to guess what house needed what until you were right next to the mail box, and you don’t have enough time to change to the correct type (unless you want to get spooked). You mention adding colours on the mini-map: that could definitely have worked! I was thinking of icons with arrow on the border of the screen point to the type of the nearest house, but that is definitely more complicated to implement.

You managed to do everything by yourself (graphics, music, and code), that’s pretty impressive! And you said you hadn’t done any game jams in year, well done!

Developer

Thanks for the constructive feedback, I appreciate and agree with it all. I'm thinking of adding a further version later with some of these features incorporated. :)

A great concept, I wish you could backup cause sometimes I'd get stuck bumping into stuff.

Shooting the right item at the right mailbox feels amazing though sometimes I swear it just barely misses it.

Very good though! Very good.

Developer

Hey thanks! Ah you can back up but very slowly in comparison. I'd originally planned gears to the bike too, but perhaps that would have made things even worse!

Appreciate the feedback :)

I love the idea of a bread delivery dinosaur in spooky neighborhoods! Like others I find the bike difficult to use, but I think it's because my left and right don't n stay my left and right but changes with the bike's orientation. If you can reverse the control anytime the scooter goes south, I think that would greatly help.

Developer

Interesting thoughts on the controls there! Something to think about for sure as I'd like to put out an update after the jam. I think changing the left/right would confuse the heck out of me but it could always be an optional feature right?

Thanks for the feedback, appreciate it!

I liked your game, it was quite fun to play ! Well done :)
The steering is a bit ankward at first but you get used to it quickly.
I would have liked to have the customers on the minimap to move more quickly towards the goal.

Developer(+1)

Hey thanks, did you mean a mini map additional to the radar or more data on the radar?

Thanks for the comments! Much appreciated :)

Submitted(+1)

Yes, I liked the idea of the radar but it only indicates enemies. I think you could also indicate the houses to be delivered.

For exemple, when the houses are nearby, there could be an icon on the radar and when they are too far away from the player, small triangles on the edge of the radar that point in the direction of the houses would be fine.

Developer(+1)

Oh the radar only indicates houses (or rather the mailboxes) to be delivered to, not the enemies!

But having both on there colour coded differently might have made that more obvious perhaps? And I like the idea of changing their size, I'll give it some thought.

Thanks again! :)

I like the idea here and this is a fun game. The ghosts definitely add to the spookiness and feeling of threat.

I also had some issues with the controls. They are a little bit difficult to get used to, but it's possible. But I also found that even after I was getting used to them, the steering had some problems. When I would release the steering, sometimes it would snap back to steering just to the left of forward instead of straight forward. That led to some difficulty.

I also had some issues with the auto-zoom. It was frequently hard to see what was required at a house without driving right beside it.

Still, this was fun, and good atmosphere.

Developer

Yeah originally I'd hoped I could fit the controls under the mundane wildcard (because the picture was also a bike!) but they definitely fit more under "troublesome" hehe

It was also on my list to improve the autozoom, but never got around to it. Tempted to look after the jam.

Appreciate the comments! :)

so not sure if it was "just me" but I did notice the labels for "Escape" "completed" "failed" and "failed reason" were visible from the get go. (it looks like the game was designed around 1 resolution and then uploaded in another...)

also not the biggest fan of the controls but I did get my head around them reasonably quickly although the aiming while it zoomed in and out was occasionally a pain overall I did enjoy it

Developer

Hey, yes the labels are supposed to be out of shot to start with. Not sure how you viewed it in another resolution? Did you download it and run it outside of itch.io? Still new to Godot so wasn't sure how to enforce a resolution aside from using the iframe they provide here.

Thanks for the comment, appreciate it! :)

Submitted

Worked out what it is... because I have Windows UI scaling on the frame Itch uses is scaled up HOWEVER your game is trying not to scale (in menus and the UI aspects including the extra labels) but is scaling in the viewport (so I actually see further when playing...)

in my projects I (at the moment) always set "Display" -> "window" -> "Stretch" -> "Mode" to 2d and "Display" -> "window" -> "Stretch" -> "Aspect" to know what it is going to look like on all screen resolutions.

Developer

Ah interesting ok! Thanks for that, I'll play around with those settings and see if I can improve it. Appreciate the pointers :)

Fun little game! The graphics are fun. The controls were a bit awkward, I always have trouble with this kind of control scheme, unless I'm only ever going up.

Developer

Hey, thanks for the comment! Yeah originally I was thinking the controls being a bit unusual would help with the "mundane" wildcard...but I think I must have misremembered them as "awkward"! :D
