I think it's pretty neat you included control mappings, that's bonus for accessibility!

I also liked the aesthetics and concept. However it did feel a bit repetitive and a couple sfx made me jump but hey maybe that's intentional for a game with a spooky vibe.

I never figured out how to do any of the attacks. It looks like they are disabled at the start, and I never figured out how to enable them.

Developer

Default is space to attack, but you can rebind this in Settings. You start with fire bolt, the other spells you collect when killing wisps.

Great game! Also thank you for the leaderboard idea using SilentWolf, that's very neat!

It took me embarrassingly long to figure out I could shoot. I don’t know how I missed that in the instructions. The game was much easier after that! The scores on that leaderboard though O_O

Fun game, runs smoothly in the browser too. I really like that it has a leaderboard, well done.

Nice game, really liked the idea of a leaderboard.

I am not sure what I'm doing wrong, but the player does not react when I press WASD or space in the browser game. The game has focus, of course.

Developer

How odd... does it work in desktop? And you didn't rebind the controls?

Submitted(+1)

Huh, ctrl+f5 and it's working, my bad.

Good to hear :)

Great idea with leaderboard, it made the score feel more meaningful and kept me playing for longer :)

Really good game. Fun to play and addictive.

Fun game.Played it way more than is reasonable. It is kind of addictive.

It would be nice if there would be a button to cycle through the spells as it can get a bit hard to press the right key during intense moments.

Also for me the browser version was running smoother compared to the desktop version for some reason (slight difference though).

Lastly can i know a bit about how the leaderboard system is implemented if possible, would love to add one in my own games.

Thanks for the feedback! Nice idea on cycling spells, relatively easy to add too . I'm surprised the browser version runs more smoothly - on our testing it was stuttering a little with some audio glitches.

The leaderboard is using the SilentWolf addon (https://silentwolf.com/ ) - super easy to integrate (tutorial on the web site).

Thanks for the info, really appreciate it.

As for the performance being better on browser, it probably has something to do with my own pc configuration i guess.

Nice settings screen, lots of options, i tried to make a remap key section but yours is way better. congrats! i think the font was a bit hard to read but overall nice game

Developer

Thanks! The remapper is pretty much based on the one from the godot asset library (I think I only added controller support and saving/loading to disk).

My bad on the font -the first one I've ever made, I might have another stab at it sometime but it's so time consuming!
