Nice job! I really enjoyed the way the platforming felt. I thought those tiny platforms would be too hard to jump on, but I managed to do it. Really enjoyed the last level. The background art was really lovely too. I thought the idea of the computer slipping off the desk was pretty funny. Maybe when the player dies, a fist should slam down on the desk knocking it to the side a bit. 😄

The whole premise of playing a platformer while the display slowly moves to is death is very novel, and it's such a fun take on the theme. The movement mechanics are quite nice, though admittedly it took me a while to realize you could double jump. I like the parallax you got going (but I noticed in level 8 that it sometimes bugs out), and I agree with other people that this game could benefit from better menu controls. I also wish there would be a crashing sound whenever the monitor falls off. Nice work!
Nice little platformer. Controlling the character is quite pleasant, and the graphics are pretty. But the menu controls are definitely confusing at first
Had to read the instructions to know how to play on keyboard/mouse. Maybe the UI buttons could be left as usable with the mouse? Some tricky platforming but I managed to pass most of the levels and I'm not even good at platformers. :) The background art is probably my favourite part. Nice submission!
Thanks for your thoughts! I did try to have mouse input for the UI. Sadly, it was not working, as I was displaying the game on the computer through a viewport, and for some reason it wasn’t working. The buttons worked fine in the actual game scene, but the viewport just messed it up. Hope you had fun!
Beautiful art, especially the parallax background 🖼
However, the camera seems to glitch behind the main character by 1 frame, it’s very annoying.
I didn’t get too far because the jump (I used controller) is extremely unreliable, it doesn’t seem to register sometimes when directional input is also provided. I don’t think this is a Godot export bug, because our game is very similar in controls (it also has parallax bg) and the jump works normally in browser. I assume this is an improper input handling/logic.
Finally, the falling monitor is brilliant and I give 5 stars for originality :)
Congratz!
The game played really well and the controls have a nice fell, but I think you could have explored the theme more.
Maybe you could’ve made the environment interact with the PC more (like earthquakes making it shake), or make the computer have some sort of virus that makes it unstable to use.
Congrats on submitting!
